This is absolutely true .. when Cam Atkinson said it was a country club around here last year, that had to be a direct shot at the player wearing the 'C'. How much more evidence is needed? But if you wanted more, look at the difference in effort from this team now that G is gone.

All the coaches they hired were BS coaches? There was like 5 of em while Giroux and Jakey were here, and I think a couple of them have Cups(AV took two different teams to the Finals). Using the coach thing as a crutch is BS IMO! Thanks!

You know it's a long season. Last year's team started out 6-3-1 over the first 10 games which put them on a 100+ point pace. They were playing with effort then. Just consider the sources offering this ridiculous premise.

Here is one of far greater import than this silly country club/old boy's narrative.

On Saturday, 15,000 odd people (75% capacity) ignored a Phillies series clinching game, the insane traffic they would encounter, and dutifully trekked down to see a cellar level home team, without some of their biggest stars, play another lowly team who is not even a division rival.

With such unthinking, lemming like devotion, why would a business do anything different than serve up what it always has?

By the way, talking about attendance figures, for the past 15 years, ESPN had a page listing attendance by team and season. They took it offline, shortly after signing a massive NHL broadcast deal.

Surely a coincidence.
