Let's remember Mayfield had 3 goals all.last season so I wouldn't expect a ton from him. That being said it will help to get the d up.in the play regularly

It may opening things up down low if the D can continually apply pressure and be successful. It is only two games in...Lets see where they stand at 10.

After two games, what do we think? Is this a 1-goal-a-game team or a 7-goals-a-game team?

Way too early.

I give the Islanders all the credit in the world for capitalizing and getting it done but the Ducks may not be the best measuring stick

With that said I’m really liking Romanov’s game.

Yeah, but also maybe Florida's that good this year and we shouldn't judge the Isles too harshly for losing a close game to them. Who knows? At least last night's game has me interested to see the next one.

I love that the D is getting more involved offensively. It makes a world of difference when there's that additional layer pressuring the other team in its own zone.

The thing I'm not liking so much is they leave players wiiiide open that walk right down the middle quite a bit when they're in their own zone.

You have to beat the teams you are supposed to beat.

I wasn’t judging them harshly it was more of an observation. I said numerous times there were glimpses where they looked good in that game. It was obvious they’ll need some time to adjust to what lambert wants. It’s not something that normally happens in a few preseason games. I like the way the D is more activated also. That’s todays NHL. I think there will be some adjustment to that also with some odd man rushes going the other way. Hope they can start to build after the last game.

I was just speaking generally about judging the first two games. I wasn't gunning for anything you said.
