Oh, I agree. I don't see any reason whatsoever for pessimism or doubting and second guessing the GM. Let's go!
- MJL

Its talk about not watching and people thinking they no more than people who have been more in the business. Why wouldn't people watch, because they are bad?

It the talk about they should made this move or done this move, we do not know what moves they tried to make and didn't make. It's takes 2 GM's to make a trade so Fletch did what he could do, I am glad he didn't give up First round picks.

Eagles sucked until Andy
Phillies sucked for a decade
Sixers sucked through the process BS, and how many draft picks are on the team still from the process. The process got them Embid and an aging Harden.

You support and watch your team through the bad and the good. Will the Flyers suck, there is a good chance they do, I have them finishing in the bottom 3.

I am going to watch as many games as I can, I want to watch the young kids grow together on the team. I am pumped for tonights game

Fletcher's offseason changes to injury prevention on his club are already paying dividends for the season opener.

Ellis - LTIR and his career is over
Brown - LTIR
Couturier - IR
Risto - not playing, only played two preseason games
Atkinson - not playing, missed all of preseason
Hart - starting without playing a second in preseason
Farabee - playing without playing a second in preseason

- Feanor

How many snaps did the snaps have for the Eagles starters have in the preseason??

I edited your post because you skipped 2018

Just randomly picking teams on Hockeydb, I've looked at 7 so far and every one dwarfs what the Flyers have done in terms of hitting on picks. Even if you set a criteria of say, 200 NHL games. It's pretty bad.

I did indeed. Thanks

First 20 games.
Perfect record for lotto hunt to start would be….
6-10-4

- konalover711

That averages out to about a 65 pt season. Given that this is a tough part of schedule, team has not yet adjusted to new coach and key players are out, I would prefer at least 1 more loss.

Yes as fans we root for our team and hope for the best. Also as paying and investing fans, we exercise our right to not give the ownership and management our hard-earned money and time and have every right to call them out when they piss down our back and try to convince us it’s raining. CF and Dave Scott have been abysmal in the way they run this team yet keep paying lip service to the fan base and selling a bill of goods when we know better. My ire is focused on CF and DS and Comcast as failures in management. I will root for the Flyers (as all of us do), hope for the best (whatever that is - Bedard? A Stanley Cup this year?), and anticipate watching the kids grow (maybe). However, CF must go! Dave Scott must go! Looks like the training and medical staff must go! There is no direction or discernible plan. Until there is, it’s abundantly clear this teams management philosophy is in need of a deep cleaning and resetting enema.

I have only 1 issue with this. Yes you support your team. To a certain extent. We are are at point of enabling now. Since cap beginnings lock out EVERY team has adjusted and yes debatable how well and all but flyers have not. They are only team continue to beat this building strategy drum from pre cap. It’s obvious to anyone with a heartbeat that whole cleansing is needed.

Perfect example is there a Theo epstein in hockey? Just totally new approach.

At this point supporting this team without real full change is like enabling a crackhead. Every move should be not only criticized but lambblasted everywhere until change is forced. By the fans. It’s time to step in and take the wine away from the crazy uncle

So simple math says the Flyers should have gotten 24 players out of those drafts.

They got 22 (including the *pending* guys)

A number of things that I disagree with you on. It's a sad reality that many fans do know better than the current GM. That's the sad reality. It's not often I would say that. Fletcher is completely incompetent.

Is talking about potential moves, not part of being a fan? Part of interacting on a forum such as this? Regardless of who well the team is doing.

If the Flyers would adopt the proper process and stick to it. They might get more support. Instead of this insane spending to the cap and trying to win approach they have. The Flyers have not adapted to the modern day NHL and the salary cap. It's only been around since 2005.

You root for a team but you don't rubber stamp incompetence.

I'm glad you're pumped for the game. Enjoy yourself

For reference, in that same time frame, Carolina drafted 20 guys who played 200+ NHL games.

- BINGO!

I don’t think the pending players have been fairly accounted.

TBD on goalies Ersson, Sandstrom, Fedotov

TBD on guys that made the roster out of camp this year like Allison and Laczynski.

I think that overall the Flyers are an average drafting team with an obviously positional deficit at RHD. It is hard to separate the drafting and development evaluation. I think they might be in the very bottom ranking for development.

I was actually looking at that Frost line thinking those are probably the two best line mates he has ever had as a center.

Two shooters may be a boon for him as he is mainly a playmaker.

- MBFlyerfan

You think? That looks like a line where Frost will have to do a lot of heavy lifting.

I don't really agree. I think Allison is going to be the retrieval guy. And JVR is also a decent player on the boards. Frost will need to do his part of course. But I think maybe you are underestimating Allison a bit. AS LONG AS he stays healthy I think he will be the driver of that line. (BIG if I know)

So who is the first injury? I’m guessing it’s Farabee rushing back. Good odds on Hart too

Habs scored 4! Caufield brilliance can improve flyers draftposition! That's why flyers passed on him. 🤪
