Canucks blow a 3-0 lead... 5 unanswered goals. Don't see much reason for the glee in here... Some good things but a lot of crap out there as well.

5 straight goals for Edmonton. Hopefully learning you can't take your foot off the gas.

Going to be a lot of tears, close game and let the second go too far. Some positives though, need to keep the shots up

Great start. Which I think was surprising.
EP40 looked good.
Kuzy as well.
That blown call on the first was a back breaker.

Oilers are clearly the better team and punished the Nux once they settled down.
Hats off to McD.
The end result was what most expected.

All good. IMO

Oilers were aces on PP, need to be better. It is the best team in the pacific, i think we could have won but the stars took over... kinda how the oilers roll

That blown call was a back breaker, but we had a lot of pp time and didnt capitalize.

When it mattered most in the 3rd period, the Oilers were the better team. Can't be losing the special teams battle like that either.

Agreed.
The Oilers bullied us tonight and we didn’t make em pay.

That JTM miss fire on the pp was huge in hindsight

3/4 vs 1/8 is pretty much the tale of the tape. Petey played hard and had some close wiffs, hes squeezing the stick. I like he puts that pressure on but man he needs to settle in. Loved kuzmenko and his net front. Night all, good first game. Special teams once again!

This is likely going to be the story of the season, good starts and teams will capitalize on our mistakes (which we make a lot because of our sub par D). To be fair, it's just game 1 and we were without Mikheyev who'd help on the PK plus Boeser's definitely not 100% with his wrist or fitness yet.

Nurse with the motivational hit/penalty seems to be the game changer.

PP is way to predictable. Campbell and the Oilers knew the play and he made several very easy saves, as a result.

Miller to Hughes to Pouty, back to Hughes and back to Pouty for a one-timer, with the occasional howitzer from Hughes thrown in.

What was lost in the good early start, is the dreaded 3-0 lead.

1-8 on the PP

Miller was the Oilers best penalty killer.

Miller was on the ice for all 5 goals against, Hughes on ice for 4 goals against and Pouty on ice for 3 goals against.

What would happen to the oilers if mcdavid got injured long term? Canucks outplayed them I thought, lots of chances. Special teams need to be better, high stick on Hughes they didn’t call changed the game, oilers were undisciplined, short handed goal near the end of the second hurt. Should have never lost this game but it was entertaining.

Canucks outplayed them in the 1st... PP stunk... PK stunk... 5 unanswered goals... A small few players looked on their game. The rest didnt.
