So Wilson fucks Seattle with that massive contract then has the audacity to complain that there isn't a good enough O-Line in front of him....

- LordHumungous

It's starting to look like he may be smoke and mirrors, if they lose to the Chargers on MNF things won't be pleasant in Denver. In any event I'm happy he's gone.

Last preseason lineup...

Pearson - Miller - Garland
Joshua - Horvat - Höglander
Podkolzin - Pettersson - Kuzmenko
Karlsson - Åman - Lazar

Hughes - Schenn
Rathbone - Burroughs
OEL - Poolman

Opening night lineup (unless someone comes back from injury?).. Dickinson sitting?

Yeah that looks like it. Pretty underwhelming ... looks like a lineup that still needs at least a handful of cuts. This is what I meant about depth. Sure you can say if Mcjesus & Drai went out Edm would struggle depth wise, but that's not very likely to happen and if it did, they have some guys (Holloway) where there is some excitement or promise around. Those guys are few & far between for Van ... and they were mostly locked into positions already. So now we reach in to the garbage heap. I'm at least pleasantly shocked Chiasson is not on this team.

We have Boeser & Mikey out and likely behind the 8 ball. Last year was admittedly worse with Hughes and Petterson, but that's still our top natural goal scorer and the guy tasked with bringing the PK to respectability. I see a similar start.

Boeser and Mik will be back close to the start of the season

There is good news on the horizon too, with some of Vancouver’s key injured players edging closer to becoming active. All indications are that Boeser appears to be on schedule in recovering from hand surgery. We’re told that Boeser is working hard to beat his 3-4 week recovery timeline.

Mikheyev, likewise, is feeling good and pushing to return as soon as possible. While it’s a day-by-day process for Mikheyev at the moment, we understand that he hopes to be back in action for the first weekend of the regular season — if not before.

Hockey injuries are unpredictable, so don’t take any of that to the bank, but in any event, Boeser and Mikheyev’s ailments aren’t long-term considerations. The club is even considering the possibility of rostering both forwards on opening day without any injury designation — going on Injured Reserve (IR) would mean missing four games, going on LTI would mean missing all of October — and could carry 14 forwards as they head to Alberta to kick off a 10-day, five-game road trip to open the campaign.

There’s less intel at the moment on Travis Dermott, who left practice under the aid of Canucks medical staff earlier this week and, as far as we can tell, has yet to skate. If Dermott’s injury is longer-term and he goes on LTI, it would open up a bit of flexibility for the club short-term, which could be the difference between the club opening the season with 21 or 22 skaters on their 23-man roster.

Looks like Hogs is subbing in for BB and Karlsson for Mikheyev. Coach Bruce rewarding camp standouts. They say Karlsson has untapped offense. He broke Petey’s record in SHL.

Johnny Kovacevic RHD (waivers) may be an option.

Do GM’s do that? Thought the lineup was a coaches decision…

The whole if he earns a spot we will make room line is a bunch of BS.

Ultimately, the GM determines who is on the roster and who gets called up.

Weager 8 years almost $52m in Calgary.

Surely Horvat is as important to his team.

I mean, yes, the roster is the domaine of the GM, but I bet the coach has a lot of input into who will be on the 23 roster at the start of the year, and who gets called up etc.

I would hope the coach has some input, but who knows, they weren't even sure if they wanted the coach back this season.

Doubt he makes it to wherever Canucks are in the waiver claim priority.

Also, he might not fit the vision of the management, as he weighs more than 179 lbs.

I think VAN is #15 in waiver claim order.

Yipes and Boudreau likes Myers too. We can only hope this club has the diversity to power through these injuries.

I got a half an ounce of mushrooms, half ounce of Mandarin Cookies, my fishing and camping gear, and a campsite reserved in Renny for 2 days.
