I must say, I have never seen a bunch of guys holding on so dearly to their jobs as Hockey Canada management.

Everyone wants to them to quit, but they just don't.

How on earth is their board allowing this? How much dirt to they have on them?

- Scabeh

didn't the board approve the use of the hush money, which is why everyone is staying put?

I think Justin is gonna have to put his big boy pants and do something about it at some point lol

sadly it'll probably take for every sponsor to disassociate themselves before it happens, money talks.

Fundamentally, when you have people that have existed in a framework where certain behaviour is tolerated or excusable and then made to "go away", their (what normal people would call minor) changes to viewpoints, policies and attitudes seem like massive changes to them.

For them, defending what they perceive as big changes seems reasonable.

What they fail to realize is that their perceptions are wrong and the "changes" do not seem reasonable to most people.

Yeah, 2% of their funds come from the associations and like 8% from the governement. I think the sponsors are the ones that can make them resign

and they probably consider that resigning would basically mean they're admitting that what they did was wrong, so instead they're trying to salvage whatever is left of their public image, which isn't a good look either lol

I'm glad though that Hockey Québec said they wouldn't be contributing anymore, even if it isn't a ton of money it's the principle behind it that matters.

I am pretty sure they don't want to leave and open all the books and agreements they have to hide stuff. Board members can be legally liable...

yes, replace Slafkovsky by Suzuki, and Xhekaj by Shueneman or Wideman
- fidopro

Schueneman really? In every game he played he looked totally lost in his own zone and totally is quite the euphemism. I really don't see anything in his game worth to be in the NHL to be honest. The only thing I agree with is Xhekaj to start the season in Laval and make his way up at some point this season. Well same apply to Juraj...

Now if Hockey Quebec could get their $hit together, that would be a double win.

who cares, they just need bodies to fill the sweaters. maybe they'll claim one on waivers. leave the kids in Laval. let them learn and win together over there.

Well, at least Wideman could be of some use on the 2nd waive of the PP. Now if we could get a decent D in a trade, that would be quite interesting especially with Edmunson out (again).

heard a roomer that the Habs might trade for another player going to LTIR in order to create more cap space for this year to be able to pick up a bigger salary on the waiver wire.

So trade for a player going to LTIR, get another pick in exchange, use that cap space to pick up a RD

example: Tucker Poolman from Vancouver, 2yrs left at 2.5M/yr, will be on LTIR

but there will be kids playing with the CH, and it does matter who they're playing with for their development. I don't get this "who cares" approach but whatever.

it's probably gonna take some time, but hearing Jocelyn Thibault talk about it I think they're on the right track.
