It wouldn't surprise me. Cal is being held together by duct tape at this point. I'm certain he will miss a bunch of games.

Real happy we signed him to that team friendly “value contract”.

Thank god we re-signed him for two years

Honestly, it's not the worst thing if he is gone long term. They get a good look at that Russian and get some much-needed cap space for in season moves they might make.

If he were never signed to begin with it would most likely be better.

That too lol: Even though I still like him as a fourth liner especially for under 2 million. Just don't think that body has much left to offer unfortunately

Yep! Cannot break up the best 4th line though.

Always been a big Clutterbuck fan but it was time to move on. That fourth line has been toast for two seasons now. I have no idea where Martin gets those hit numbers from or what they consider a hit these days I watch a game and I don’t even know he’s playing half the time. He’s a shell of what he was also. I say that being a fan of his also but I have a hard time understanding resigning these guys for multiple or a couple of years when they are obviously not nearly as effective as they were. Reduced rate but they were overpaid to begin with. Hope to see something different this season but I’m not too optimistic with it…

I always liked MM and Casey but they cannot stay healthy at the point and the entire line is barely holding on at this point.

Great team guys, great for the community, etc but unfortunately it was probably time to move on. Hoping cizikas has a reasonably healthy/productive season. Also hoping lambert isn’t scared to break those guys up and insert another player if need be. If he plays a similar system to trotz that fourth line will play an important role.

I was glad when the the Isles first signed him. He used to drive me nuts when he was with the Wild. It seemed like he found a why to hurt the Isles every time we played them.

Unfortunately his style of play will grind a person down.

Yep, normally these kinds of players have shorter careers. Or at least they should I should say

Edit; with that lameriello said mayfield will be back with the team tomorrow he’s ready to go and clutterbuck is just experiencing soreness and is day to day.

Soshnikov made the roster. I assume he’ll play in clutterbuck’s spot for the time being. Salo is our number 6 D man.

I’m expecting some growing pains but I’m looking forward to it also. Interested to see what Soshnikov can do. Hoping he can maintain the same level of play from preseason. At the very least maybe he can push the guys on the fourth line a bit…

This is such horse crap !!! It was a 2 minute penalty. Move on. Fining him is just the league listening to the Rags cry foul.

Amazing that the NHL has zero issues with Trouba head hunting in playoffs last year, but this is where they draw the line.
