got it, I will try harder to be more negative regarding the canucks and really embrace what the sportsnet experts have to say.

Canucks will be lucky to get 90pts this season, Horvat should be traded not worth 7 a year, Bruce should be fired for icing an AHL squad to play against Virtanen, Mcdavid and Driasatl and Kane

- Makita

Fingers crossed that there are no floods this year.

If only management had sent their whole squad to Edmonton, during pre-season, before an already arduous season with a team that has difficulty staying healthy at the best of times...

Much better!

Haha anyway. Call it doom if you must, I just don't see any change in direction with this new regime. Maybe FA does really run things. I see a middle to not very good team with an excellent goalie and zero push from below on depth.

Taking a flyer on a russian (or two depending on your thoughts on mikey), signing lazar (who anyone could have had several times over the last several years) and switching sides for QH is underwhelming me.

Imho after the past many years endured, we all deserve better / more change ... even you

The Canucks are ahead of the curve I guess. No other team in the NHL dressed 4 regulars and 16 minor leaguers near the end of the preseason. Hey, that kind of strategy worked wonders last season... why not double down on it.

Then you got Makita.... bad when Green does it.... good when Bruce does it. At least I'm consistent and not just posting bias.

Pettersson looks fantastic, at least on paper lol….I’m tellin ya, ~90 point season for the kid. Quinn Hughes finishes top five in defensive scoring, 6th last year, and Demko gets some Vezina votes

I’ll admit, it is kind of a strange strategy, isn’t it. The regular boys need some reps!

Seems to work for the teams that beat the Canucks during their piss poor starts when everyone eventually agrees they were not ready. Weird how people keep saying the preseason is meaningless with so much recent history showing otherwise.

I think the new Russian kid will score 20 if he plays with Pettersson. Kids the best player in the organization by far. Pettersson. Thank God the scouting group overruled Benning and took the best player in the draft at #5

The preseason isn’t meaningless for the NHL regulars, however, if they’re not playing the results of the preseason kinda are.

To be honest I like the team, there are players that can be upgraded on(Pearson,Garland) but the 2 russians and Lazar will make a difference, at least I think so. I am not sold on Hughes as a RD and believe that won't last as he struggles.

I have never been a fan of preseason whether Green or Boudreau regardless of booner. I am hoping for the playoffs and if not then Boudreau is gone, and I also wouldn't be surprised to see Horvat traded or signed, but I'm leaning towards traded.

I think I read somewhere that the team only had a losing pre-season record once under Green which really puts everything into perspective right now

I think the forward group is solid, I’m not sold on the defense at all. Everyone is still being asked to do too much. A lot of square peg in round hole type of situations.

Apparently Carson Soucy was available via trade last year. He can play both sides, is steady defensively and decent enough at moving the puck. Ideally Garland or Hog are dealt for a decent dman.

No thanks to paying Horvat $7m+ for 7-8 years when he turns 28 years old. But if you refuse to pay you then you have to have the big balls to trade him during the season which I don’t think this management team will do if this team is in the playoff picture. And if you trade him you need a Center back because there’s no one behind Miller/Pettersson and those guys aren’t even full time career centers themselves to begin with.

I suspect they cave into Bo’s demands eventually.

Yeah I don't think Horvat gets us much if he gets traded.

Based on past Rutherford, I was just hoping for some action. Miller's value was at all-time high based on 99 point season.

Example:
- trade Miller, get the assets
- sign Kadri, free money so to speak

Just something to shake it up and get some excitement on upcoming picks/prospects, even if they don't pan out.
