Agreed. It’s the coach’s job to assess the skill, ability, work ethic, and mental game. York, nor anyone else, wont just be handed the job. Get him minutes and experience just don’t Jack him back and forth like Frost last year. Make the kid hungry. Make him learn the right way to play. Also, he’s be stuck on the 3rd pairing every night in the NHL right now. - mikeyo27
Games I’ve watched he’s played like poop. Torts talked about accountability…welp, here we are. I don’t think he’ll be down for long, but hopefully he finds his game. This team needs some of these young guys to produce…to even have a chance to be successful. |

Do think the coach will have an even accountability ruler all players? Or will he pick and choose who to hold accountable? - furio16
All players. Although the discipline looks different for different players and circumstances. In the end though, you don’t stay permanently if you are not part of the solution.

Actually, I believe JVR has value at this deadline. He will be cheap assuming the Flyers cover some remaining salary, and a contending team is always looking for some help in the PP in the playoffs. He can fetch the Flyers a mid round pick. - jd250
He might. He’s going to play a lot. If he can score at his career pace he may actually get a decent return at the deadline. |

Yes, I mean if he is around 20 goals at the deadline, he will fetch something decent for the Flyers. |

This team is a joke. A once proud franchise, the Flyers are now the Kansas City Scouts of the 21st century. Well done, Cuck. - BiggE

Oh really, then show it! If everyone saw it then it should be very easy .. so have at it! Oh and anytime you think you have what it takes to shut me up, I'll meet you in West Haven and you can have a go. - jd250
you still think giving up a 1st a 2nd and a roster player for rr was a good move -- you have no credibility |

I don’t think you understand what a third round pick is. This isn’t some haul. He had zero value in the off season due to his cap hit. It’s universally understood that he could fetch a mid round pick at the deadline if he were to have a decent season. Your comprehension failure is evident. - ClaudeFather
I don’t know how you came to this conclusion but there is a lot of assumption here.
All I’ve heard all day, not to mention all summer is that JvR had no value, nobody wants him, nobody will take him. This has nothing to do with return. You pretending you know me or twist my post fit your narrative is beyond asinine. |

As long as he’s scoring at his usual pace he’s got value on an expiring contract. I don’t see why he wouldn’t. Especially when you eat money off the deal. - hereticpride
This has always been my mindset but this isn’t what I’ve been reading on this board. |

York sent down, Seeler makes the team because he fought someone in an pre-season game per Tortorella. No franchise lives in the past more than the Flyers. Their archaic way of thinking is laughable. - PLindbergh31
Gotta love it. Thank god we have a great PK to fight off all the dumb roughing and instigator penalties we’re going to get. |

I mean it’s a fair argument that JVR won’t reach his usual numbers given how terrible this years roster is.
It’s also a fair argument that Chuck can’t get value where there is value due to his complete ineptitude.
If JVR pots his usual 20 goals and Flyers eat some cash he is very easily moved however. |

The SHG was actually less concerning to me then all the abysmal clear and transition attempts he had been guilty of prior. - Tomahawk
I was afraid he "expected" to be on the roster and not tried to "earn" his way. He'll go to the A and hopefully recoup. Time will tell.

This yet to be seen but not the point I’m making.
Day after day many of you play GM and all it takes is one post from MJL for most of you to go back on your belief system. This isn’t a knock on MJL. I like MJL. This is me being blown away by what I’ve read here today. |

The only one who has been tricked is yourself. JVR had no trade value over the summer that is a fact. We would have had to package him with an asset to get rid of him. In February, whenever the trade deadline is, he will get a very small return. |

He just looked kinda apprehensive and it led to misplays.
Maybe spooked by having Torts watching him. |

Your argument isn’t about a players prime or when their ceiling can be seen. It’s about not fitting among a cup winning roster due to age. I notice you didn’t show any recent cup rosters. Here you go:
https://www.hockey-refere...e.com/teams/TBL/2020.html - NC Flyers Fan
Yes surely sanheim is that caliber player. 🙄 now go look at the star players ages on those cup teams. How many 20/21/22 year olds driving the play? Oh none? So adding a sanheim caliber player does what to what to this team in 3/4 years? Oh nothing? K |
