Unfortunately, Torts sees Seeler as the 6th best D man. No one else earned it. - Minnyhock
A shot at Bedard, I hope they play 82 games. Hopefully, Fantilli can have a great season at Michigan. This 3rd pairing helps in my hope that Fletcher is fired by Christmas and they secure worse record by end of the season.

Connauton will be the 8th dman
Don't be surprised to see Anisimov playing with all the injuries. Torts loves this guy. - black_francis
How can a roster be so bad that icing Anisimov in 2022 makes sense. Ugh. |

Chuck’s gonna get the old country club firing. Fired by promotion.
Briere won’t be any different.
I wonder if you can reach Clarke’s banner with a paintball gun from the mezzanine… |

I'm as cynical as the rest of you, but I honestly have a hard time seeing how the succession/promotion plan could survive them being as bad, or maybe even worse, than last season.
Dave Scott's gonna really start getting pressure from above. |

So you think Briere won t draft Bedard at first overall? I m not suggesting will be great, but change is needed. Not going to bury the next GM before the hire. Right now, the Flyers look easily to be one of the three worst teams. All the moves done so far reinforce my belief.

Just shut up. No one is going back, we all saw it. You are a fool, that’s common knowledge. - ClaudeFather
Oh really, then show it! If everyone saw it then it should be very easy .. so have at it! Oh and anytime you think you have what it takes to shut me up, I'll meet you in West Haven and you can have a go. |

i don't think it does. They are already at 49 contracts, and he's old and injury prone.

How about Charlie McAvoy? - MJL
How about Charlie? I stated clearly he is a good player but that I would not pay him $9M a year, what is wrong with that? I stated Patrick was a bust long before any else even had a sniff of it, and I was right. I stated I was uncertain about Farabee being a star, and so far I am right about him, he is good but not great. I have stated Frost doesn't have the goods to be a top 6 forward in the NHL, and so far I am right about him. I stated JOB was the real deal but injuries have hampered his ability to perform at BU, and I am right about that, as Bill Meltzer has confirmed. So do you want to keep going about player evaluations? You see unlike you and some other clowns on this forum, I don't simply dismiss a player because of a spreadsheet or because he was obtained with draft picks by a GM I have a personal Vendetta with. Its very easy to just state that every new player sucks and every move the the GM makes is wrong, and I am thus grateful I am not like you. |

York sent down, Seeler makes the team because he fought someone in an pre-season game per Tortorella. No franchise lives in the past more than the Flyers. Their archaic way of thinking is laughable. |

I think you are referring to Attard, not Seeler? Also, Attard still probably gets sent down. |

The entire board believes JvR has absolutely no value. MJL escapes from HB jail and disagrees. Entire board changes its tune. - SuperSchennBros
Actually, I believe JVR has value at this deadline. He will be cheap assuming the Flyers cover some remaining salary, and a contending team is always looking for some help in the PP in the playoffs. He can fetch the Flyers a mid round pick. |

I’m a big fan of Tort’s honesty and accountability. Basing decisions on merit plus what is best for a individual player’s development, is a concept that has been lacking lately. It has been said over and over but not done in practice. I can’t blame Torts for the development problems we have witnessed for the last decade, he just got here.
The fact is that York didn’t have a good camp. He is 21 years old, trying to break into the league at the toughest position that takes the longest (along with goaltending) to be ready. Just from an outside fan perspective, you can see that York’s perspective is a bit off from a true team player. It doesn’t have anything to do with off ice personality. However, his reaction to PP time or playing with different partners or playing the right side because that is where he is needed shows he lacks some maturity. That is not a knock, mental growth takes time and experience. At 21, there is nothing wrong with this approach of giving him more AHL time.
Having said that, it is tough to forget the way the player development has failed in recent times with seemingly no accountability. Either drafting stinks or development stinks yet no one is fired. The argument being they needed more staff to properly evaluate and come alongside the many prospects and of course, the rash of injuries slowing development. I’m watching and waiting to give them all a chance to show some organizational improvements. Not going to hold my breath, but not blaming Torts either.

Do think the coach will have an even accountability ruler all players? Or will he pick and choose who to hold accountable?
