I'm for anyone of the up and comers but a big no to a guy who leads only when his time has passed

I am genuinely happy for you to have a Girgensons victory lap. Thought it would be Tuch who got the other "A" but Gus has been here for 400 years and it's hard to argue with that
- Hank Balling

The hate for girgensons is a joke. Complaining about a 4th liner that can kill penalties.

He’s not the worst player ever.

The season needs to start already. The hate for girgensons and bjork is ridiculous.

I mean they are both bad at the hockey.
Girgensons is an awful first round pick, that’s why he gets the hate.

Amen.

There have been exactly zero surprises or interesting happenings surrounding this team since last season ended in April

You are hating on his draft capital we used from how long ago?

Are you bitter about your ex girlfriend or ex wife from 5-6 years ago?

Let it go.

An Okposo extension would be exciting, right?

Wonder what the tone of Sabreland will be once Okposo gets hurt (already is) long term. Not even 2 years ago all of Buffalo begged to buy him out. No Okposo is not a Tage comparison, don’t even try.

Imagine Quinn/Peterka/Savoie etc asking Girgs for successful advice….imagine them asking what the playoffs are like.

Adams slapping a letter on a player who turned down a long term contract, exposes his total bull turd line of having players who want to be here. An A will not make Dahlin want to sign and lose for his career.

Will the fans turn on the team only to realize management…yet again…failed to build a winning culture? Or is it a youth problem 12 seasons into Pegula ownership? It’s very difficult to see upside in these leadership picks based on all the effort put in to remove the culture of the past, only to put those guys in charge.

If he's respected by his teammates than it shouldn't be a problem. I would give it to Tuch.
Tuch C
Dahlin A
Tage A

- Buff36

Is Tuch a serious candidate for Captain?

If so, why wasn't he given an A this time?

I thought we were told the roster wasn't set and there were many interesting camp battles taking place?

I'm not expecting much of anything interesting next offseason either.

Tuch wants to be in north Buffalo, Adams isn’t budging about wanting to be in South Buffalo. Tuch never had a chance.

I don't know why, just saying this is the group that I would have gone forward with.

Who could possibly displace Anders Bjork? We should all be grateful Eakin wasn't returned.

Thank god Adams was extended. Someone would have snatched him up by now.

No surprise at all by way of letters if you paid attention. The first game 26 wore an A last season was against the Leafs, and he was the best player on the ice that game. So much so AM34 had a bit of a hissy fit.

Okposo was the C in all but name last year, and by all indications Z has been his right hand in guiding the young.

Tuch does not need a letter. Let him simply make whatever line he's on better. Tuch, Tage, Skinner, Vic all have to produce points on a night-in-night-out basis. They don't have the option of 0-fors anymore. That is how all four of them can lead.

I think the fact our best player has an A covers the fact none of our best scorers has an A or C.

Edit: Okposo was third in goals last season FWIW, though I doubt any of us think he's a better scorer than Tuch or Vic.

Too much Z hate.

Of all Buffalo forwards who played more than 20 games last season, Z was 3rd behind Tuch and Asplund in +/- at a -7 (Tuch -3, Asplund -5). Considering who his line played against every night (at least every home game), -7 may be considered a minor miracle with Eakin on that line.

Now, if you want to tell me waive him and let a younger player come up from Roch for that role. OK, but watch Z get claimed immediately, and watch that rookie get caved in on a nightly basis for a while.

Are you signing Girgensons to an extension after this season, even if only a one year extension?

How about Okposo?

We learned quite a bit about the Sabres through training camp and their six preseason games.

🥅 Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka are on the team
🥅 UPL is trending up
🥅 Dylan Cozens is a breakout candidate
🥅 Rasmus Asplund is back at center

I think you miss understood.
The point was that the roster was completely set by comparison to all the other teams.
In fact most other teams rosters are equally "set".

When the team holds onto Okposso and Girgs instead of opening those roster spots, that should be the focus.
Do we know where Mitts is playing? C or W?
Do we know where Krebs is playing?
Who are Quinns linemates
What line is Peterka playing on? Who is his linemates?
Is Olo or Tuck the 1RW with Skinner and Tage
Is Andy the starter?
Is UPL the starter or 3rd, or is he 1st on the Amerks?

Doesn't look set to me.
