It's terrible, but he mentioned trying to get them to include Oettinger in the 1st video or including Marchment or Heiskanen as a salary dumps. That was a different level of terrible. 4 disposable guys for Robertson got thrown around here a lot.

Much like Tkachuk, he'll be in full control after this deal ends, as an RFA who can ARB his way to UFA status with a $9.3M qualifying offer.

He'll be able to sign a massive deal as he turns 27, when the cap has really begun to rise ($90M+ at that point).

I wonder if some of the hangup was the deal being 5 years or 4 years, as 5 years would walk him right to free agency, but 4 years means Dallas can at least trade his rights and get something in return if Robertson doesn't want to commit to Dallas long term.

Why because the Sabres were afraid to take a chance on a 2 time 40 goal 1 time 30 goal scorer and see if he would sign long term with all this talent the Sabres have. People or just me? The point I was making was that I think olo, JJP, a protected 1st and whatever else isn’t enough trade power and if I was Dallas I would want something interesting in return. Just politely trying to make conversation with a fellow poster but in return I get attitude from the peanut gallery.
