I think its more they'd rather have camp play out incase there are more injuries. The longer they dont have to trade someone the better. - Santo_44
Holl will only get traded for another Holl imo.
Teams who consider themselves cup contenders do not rely on essentially two rookies on the back end…. Especially with question marks around their goalies this year. |

If they get rid of their only veteran right handed D to play a guy who is essentially a rookie they don’t deserve to win a cup.
Liljegren got pulled from last years post season for a reason, like it or not Holl is still better defensively than him. - Dozzer
Brodie is a much better D against top comp than Holl is.
And I don't agree with that statement at all. It is October 4th. Perfectly fine to have stop gaps especially considering the flat cap. |

The Wild makes sense.
They like their homegrown players too.
They have 5.7M in cap space. - Santo_44
Fingers crossed. Can't see him nixing a trade there, either. |

The fans sure.
The fans don't run the team, Dubas does.

He’s not tho. He’s capable but he’s not the guy on their shutdown pairing… they tried it last year and I truly believe they want a rightie on that 2nd pairing again or Holl would have been moved to make room by now. - Dozzer
Muzzin and Brodie were the playoff shutdown pair ...and they were good ...maybe really good. |

He's in 2nd NHL season.
Give him time.
And picking Boldy wasn't a bad choice. But it was the wrong choice. - Scabeh
Slim chance Caufield ever scores at a better GPG than Matthews.
Straight out goals maybe, if there are injuries.
Or when they are 38 and Caufields youth like aging process keeps him athletic longer |

Addison has earned a spot though...A crowded top 8. |

If you think the leafs make any notable moves without an injury forcing them to anytime soon I’m sorry but I’m 99% sure you’re incorrect.
It’s come down to this. Who will they put on waivers and who will they roll with.
And not one of Holl, Kerfoot, or Engvall are going anywhere anytime soon is my bet.
Before we see a notable change it will be damn near the deadline is my guess. |

How 'bout them Blue Jays? - GreatGigInTheSky
Jays talk is better than the minutae of the Leafs' depth players and cap wiggle room. 6 months of takes about Holl, Kerfoot and Chychrun, sick |

Except they failed and lost in the first round.
Their shutdown pairing wasn’t good enough. |

I've done the math and I trust it. Once ZAR signs it'll be the end of one of those guys career here. |

Well Matthews is the best current goal scorer in the league.
I don't mind settling with Caufield ending up being a close 2nd.

With that argument it’s safe to say Holl isn’t going anywhere then. |

At the risk of being banned, I do find it funny that this site generates hours upon hours of us armchair GMs figuring out trades for our 7th defenceman.
Just watch the game, nerds. Dubas ain't reading this. |

I'm basically getting it cut twice a year now. It gets long enough to put it into a manly wolf tail (not a ponytail ) and then I get it cut shortish. - GreatGigInTheSky

Except in game 7 when Muzzin and Brodie were the D on the ice for TB’s 2nd goal
Hell even Holl was plus 1 in that game (the only player on the team who was + that game btw)
I still blame Matthews, Marner, JT, and Nylander for losing the game but it also proved the Muzzin-Brodie pairing was far from perfect. |
