Not entirely bare. Just from camp and preseason, besides Poulin, I could see any one of O’Connor, Puustinen,Hallender,Legare,Andonovski,Nylander and Olson being called up and not looking out of place. There is also Svejkovsky,Pickering,Ansons,Glover and a few others who could soon be knocking on the door.

Yeah let's just name every player in the Pens system, eventually one will come through lol

It would have to be for futures....I believe the Pens are like 730k over the cap today as I write this...and the Canucks are 2.7 mill over. I'm not sure if they have guys to toss on LTIR, or not, though. Seems as of today they are one short for a full roster as well 22/23...

They have Ferland which they are going to put on LTIR (3.5 million). Rumor has it they are trying to trade his contract.

Man I wish we had the space to give Jesse Puljujarvi a try. Dang you Kap and Rutta

Agree and it's frustrating. They'd easily be able to keep 23 and have some extra room. Could have kept POJ and either Friedman or Zohorna. Have already lost one and could potentially lose all 3 to waivers just to have Ruuta over a capable Ruhwedel.

That is the frustrating part. There isn't anything that Ruuta really brings to the table that Ruhwedel doesn't besides a higher cap hit. I am hoping Hex makes some trades and gets us some cap space. I could see a few things happening:
1) He cant move POJ and we end up losing someone on waviers
2) He makes a move for a prospect/pick (most likely option)
3) He makes a bigger move with a few players to upgrade a spot on the roster (least likely option, but the option we all want).

4) Trade Kap, Rutta to Arizona free up some cap space and have a press conference saying he got too happy with the cap space he had and he messed up (I'm kidding).

Haha I'm usually the more optimistic prospect guy. Think you have a better chance being right on Caggiula then most of them.

I like Poulin and DOC, beyond that not to excited. Pickering but far away. Could see Puustinen or Hallander and in a year maybe start talking about Ansons as a 4th liner. Andronovski was pretty impressive out of no year so maybe he's a fourth liner at some point. But that's what most of these guys are, maybe fourth liners.

I mentioned all the guys I thought could get called up this year as a way of showing they are pretty deep this year as opposed to other years where there were only AHL veterans. It wasn’t a question of whether one would “come through” rather it was to show the cupboard wasn’t bare. Not surprised it went over your head!
