Depending on injuries and goalie performances come the TDL, im in the same boat. - Fakepartofme
Of course if Reilly breaks his leg then you need to go buy yourself a Sanheim or something like that.
But for me this season I want the Leafs to be a top team by TDL and entice Kane to want Toronto to be an option.
A credible guy also said Kane doesn't want to be a rental, so when the time comes whatever team he chooses he probably ends his career there.
I am saving my chips for that possibility. I think Edmonton, NYR, ect would be in the same boat. |

To be clear I also said it isnt the time for the Leafs to trade for him
Maybe at the TDL, but I'd rather see what could be had
If Kane wants to play in Toronto I am all over that and that would be my number 1 priority, we won't know that for several months
I think most teams would be in the same boat also, contending teams at least - Santo_44
I get that… I do think that the number of NTCs this year will keep the team pretty much what it is.
Look at what guys like Campbell and Hyman got for contracts playing out the season in Toronto. I’ll be a bit surprised if players waive the NTC to go to a team on their list. Giving up the opportunity to play in the post season also would potentially effect the value of their next contract. |

Never suggested otherwise. Conversation was about likelihood of getting Chychrun. - Canada Cup
A Chychrun trade is still fairy dust IMO but if the Leafs ponied up the price in futures they could also move Kerfoot to another team to create the Cap space for JC.
I think that it'd have to work that way b/c I agree ...I don't see Kerfoot saying "Yes, send my the Yotes".

Leafs don't have any players with NTC that they would trade.
M-NTC sure, but that leaves 22 teams still there for trade. |

Looks like a preseason game tonight that I will actually watch. Leafs are icing a pretty good team. |

21 since they won’t trade them to themselves lol
That means there’s likely around 15 teams of the 21 who are playoff bound themselves and won’t be selling their top tier players since they will be looking to upgrade at the cost of an overpaid player, picks, or prospects.
Even the 6 teams not in a playoff spot (yes I’m stating this under the assumption the leafs will be in one) will likely be close and be pushing for a playoff spot so they won’t want to give up talent either.
So basically I’m thinking the leafs will have to pay picks or prospects and convince them to go to the team that will pay with a player they want. It will be interesting to see if they can accomplish it. |

They would have no issues trading Kerfoot at any point this season, contenders would want him 100% of the time.
Same with Engvall.
Holl wouldn't be hard to trade either.

All agreed.
Just a feeling ..but I feel like the Jays have an extra gear when they're dogs and have to prove themselves. Might be able to elevate against the 'Stros. if they get there they'll have to for sure. |

I agree with that but they’ll pay out with picks/prospects and not talented NHL ready players. They’ll have use for those guys themselves. |

Read an article that had some Keefe quotes, Keefe loves the guy already. He will get every chance at 2LW to start the season from the sound of it. Talked about his defensive side which is exactly what Tavares/Nylander need.
Bunting, Matthews, Marner
Jarnkrok, Tavares, Nylander
Kerfoot, Kampf, Kubel (KKK line, not nice)
Engvall, Gaudette, ZAR - underhill14
that had a version of that line last year with Kase being replace by Kubel- guys. |

Houston ranked above the Dodgers, huh? Woulda thunk the other way round.
Just want to avoid the travel to Seattle for the WC games. Yanks would have been nice for ALDS but Jays will just have to beat whoever they’re given. |

Agreed.
But the Jays are going to have to face several good teams to win a WS.
I'll take Seattle at home over Tampa on the road for sure.
Ray vs Gausman would be fodder for the media for several days. |

would that be renting your own rental?? instead of trading that rental to another team.

It’s going to be pretty tough for TB to catch the Jays to force a game down there. |

Lol I won’t pretend to know for sure
Who knows what will truly happen tho… what if another playoff bound team gets a serious injury to a C and put in a serious offer for someone like Kerfoot? So the leafs get prospects/picks for him which they can then turn around and use to upgrade another position.
I think injuries to most of the teams in the league will play a rather significant role as to who gets moved this year. |

Actually, it’s impossible. They’ve got 3 games left with 86 wins to Jays 90 wins. (frank) you Jon Cooper. |

One time I went ice skating on a big oval in front of the Banff Fairmont. Naturally I was sporting my Sundin away jersey. Later I shredded the gnar at Lake Louise, and had some elk, poutine. That was Canadian as a beaver.
Or another time I was in a hot tub in the Bay of Fundy watching the Leafs eliminate the Sens while I got some loving. Next morning I had a Caesar. Solid Canadiana. |
