Word is Zac Mac got rolled on. Shocked I say.
Well when Tony D is not producing offensively ( who will on this team) how long before he becomes the whipping boy?
Just a team of pure blandness. |

You were his number one (frank)in fan all of last season. What changed from April to now? Why should anyone take you serious?
Ristolainen wasn’t even the richest Flyer on the ice, making the most errors on the last three goals. - SuperSchennBros
What changed is I watched him play for a full season. Yes, I defended Risto last year because everyone was down on him without even watching a game, just going by his metrics from playing on a bad team. So I gave him a chance and early on there was a period of time where I thought Risto played very well. But as the season wore on it was evident that Risto is not a good defenseman. He stinks on the penalty kill. Absolutely stinks! He does in fact make bonehead decisions to hit somebody versus making a higher percentage defensive play. He provided very little offense throughout the season. He loses his fair share of puck battles and battles for position in front of the net (as he did against the Bruins today), and last year Risto was a whopping 14% on stopping zone entries. Do you want me to go on? At some point you have to lick your wounds, admit you were wrong about the player and move on, and that is exactly what I did. Bottom line, Risto should have never been resigned here, he should have been traded for draft capital for this draft and the Flyers could have had it, if not for Fletcher doubling down. You think the Flyers could have used that $5.1M cap space this past off season?? That is why as you know I am also calling for Fletcher to be fired or step down as GM, because clearly he is in over his head. |

We should be so lucky ... it will be because of Fletcher's incompetence, not because that is his plan. |

I did not watch the game today for any number of reasons. Had to clean the bathrooms, dust the attic joists, scrub the garage floor.
I do ask myself what Torts is waiting for?
Without familiarity with the coach the players need as much teaching of the system to be played as possible I would think.
With that in mind CF needs to cut the roster to as close to regular season form as possible.
The nhl roster players need all the reps learning the system as possible.
They will still be a bad team but maybe a respectable bad team. |

I know it's cool to hate on Zac and we definitely don't need him with the big ND signing. That said, he did fine in the scrap. Go to youtube and watch the vid. He was fine and actually got a shot in or 2 on Wolff and drew some blood.

Would you look at that…Flyers giving up one additional goal in each subsequent preseason game.
1..2..3..4..looking like a fiver tomorrow
Goals scored in the opposite direction unfortunately.
2..1..1..0..fortunately that’s it.

I also defended RR but understand the rationale for signing him. He definitely makes many bonehead plays but he is what he is. I still think he'd be a serviceable player on a good team. He was part of the Sabres mess and now our mess. He has his flaws but is not the reason why the Flyers are terrible. |

What's the over-under on the Flyers not cracking 200 goals for this season? |

What's the over-under on the Flyers not cracking 200 goals for this season? - Pixote Andolini I would certainly take the under. I'm wondering if they could flirt with 100. It depends on the health of Couturier and Farabee. Without those two guys this is truly a pop gun offense the likes of which the NHL has rarely seen. FIRE CHUCK yesterday! When they finally fire this turd I'm actually going to party as if they won the Cup! Thanks! |

Amen in regards to Chuckles. We are in deep doo-doo without Coots and Farabee. This will be a rough season to watch

So you watched him play his 66 games. Let the season play out. Watched an off season play out and now decided to go in the complete opposite of your own argument? I think you abandoned your own line of thinking so some people on this board would start to accept you, which is sad. |

I think it’s foolish to use whatever Ristolainen did in Buffalo against him to an extent. I mean you can’t just pretend his time in Buffalo didn’t happen, there is obviously a book on the player. What I think is note worthy is, Buffalo was using this guy like he was a number one defenseman for years and by doing so that approach was apart of Buffalo’s failures. Ristolainen should be in a much different role in Philadelphia. Definitely a more limited role. My problem is, none of the arguments on these boards are even remotely objective. You can’t blame the guy for every goal alllowed simply because he was on the ice. We all know Risto is capable of some blunders but what I was reading today really let Hayes off the hook because Risto was on the ice. Puck goes into the net and Hayes is literally standing next to nobody. That’s not good. |

You are right about Hayes tonight. The reason risto gets poop on almost every goal even if he’s either not totally at fault or others on a certain play are also at fault is because he does none of the things he was brought in to do. For example goal today where he’s not clearing the porch. Goal wasn’t totally on him but if he did what he was sold to the fans on at least he’d be somewhat doing his job.
Never defend that bum at all. You’ll just end up looking silly because well as buffalo fans learned there’s no defending him. He sucks. Only one tool in league would give up so much for him and extend too. And we have that tool. Yay. |
