I've been waiting for Anderson to do something, never does. I think he's fallen down the depth chart. Same with Abruzzese, he was a wasted spot last season when he was up with the Leafs. Either of them seem to "make anything happen" when they're on the ice. IMO.
I feel Steeves and Homberg have shown much more so far. - underhill14
I have to admit I'm in the same boat. I think Anderson has more to give than he's shown, but you're right - he either shows it or he's trucking out of town on the waiver wire.
Abruzzese was just introduced to the NHL last year. Yeah, he sucked, but he - like a lot of NCAA guys - learned he wasn't ready. A year in the AHL might get him there. Really the most effective you're going to see Abruzzese from my take was maybe at the Adam Brooks level anyway - so waiver-bait fill-in.

I'm penciling him in at 1x1. Why is he still holding out for nickels and dimes if he wants to be here? I gotta think if this was a play to get moved the agent would have put that out there. - The Law
Well several $100 000's is not really nickels or dimes |

Well, if the battle is $100k or so .....I'm signing my 1 yr qualifier, getting a full camp/pre-season and hammering my bosses in arbitration next summer when I have leverage.
Holding out negates his camp/pre-season and might put his big development year at risk with a slow start.
Tough call but most (almost all) of his comps have accepted their fates and bet on themselves. |

Meh Dubas has caved before (willie, one example) he's probably thinking the same will occur. |

Nylander had played two and a half seasons when held out. Sandin not so much. |

Sandin should get a new agent then. There's no reason he shouldn't be a Leaf, unless he really doesn't want to play in Toronto anymore. |

Different degrees of leverage ...and Willie got 6 yrs of time to overcome the missed time. Sandin will have 6 months (or less).
Imagine if Willie had held out and signed a 1 yr then had that poopball year.
That's the point. |

I thought we at HB went round and round and finally determined that Dubas won (or atleast drew in that negotiation. I wouldn't look at that deal and use the term "caved". Marner? Ya, probably could be argued he "caved" ...Willie? He went to the deadline and gave Willie a "take it or leave it" and Willie took it. |

It's reminiscent of Al Iafrate and Gary Leeman.
So it's highly relevant. - Atomic Wedgie

There's about 100 different stories of "player X was caught with player Y's wife), but as far as I know, Leeman/Iafrate is the only one where there's actual proof.
Although apparently Shanny is married to an ex-teammate's ex-wife, but I don't know what the actual timeline is (I'm assuming there's no scandal). |

I remember the Leeman/Iafrate story, Al wasn't too happy obviously.. The Corson/Mogilny thing, there was proof as well.. Mogilny left the team for "personal reasons" |

I was being ironic or satirical or using parody. It might have been a pun. Willie was an established player with great hair. The only commonalities are the agent and nationality. |
