It's comical...He states Chychrun's comments about not wanting to endure a long rebuild is a reason he wants to move, then turns around and attempts end mentions the Flyers possibly pursuing him? Because this organization is going places and isn't facing a possible long rebuild itself? I'd stay with Armstrong in Arizona before I accepted a move to Philadelphia with Fletcher and company at the helm. - Flyerfan2868
What’s really scares me is the Yotes would want draft capital from next years draft. The Flyers may end up having one of the most valuable pieces. |

My guess is Yotes - Telek
It has to be Chicago. It is literally the only team that I wouldn't take over the Flyers.
They have Kane and Toews (soon to be UFAs and probably traded sometime before), but the rest of the forwards make the Flyers look like superstars.
On defense they have Seth Jones on an enormous contract, which they won't be able to dump easily even if they wanted to. I do like Murphy, but the rest...they have Jack Johnson that is all I have to say.
Goaltenders....WOOF. Maybe they should sign Ek!
Prospects:
Reichel and Vlasic
Recent draft:
Korchinski (main piece to the DeBrincat trade, kid better become Makar or GIANT L)
Nolan Allan
Nazar
Rinzel
That is NOT impressive, especially looking at what they got for gutting their team (pending assets for Kane/Toews). There is not a single team I would take Chicago over for current and future outlook, even if they win Beddard their team is absolute trash. They need a solid 3-4 years of good drafting and smart moves before they even are considered Arizona of today.

We should not be catering a unit to a guy coming out of the box. That’s a situational adjustment you make depending on how much time is left on the man advantage or for the players out there to be aware If out for an extended period. - ClaudeFather
That’s not catering to a player in the box. This team isn’t spoiled by offensive talent. Whether you like Provorov or not, he probably should be on the power play over some of the forwards who don’t produce regularly. Having two defenseman on the second unit is just smart whether it’s to be aware of the guy coming out of the box or not letting up shorthanded chances, which the Flyers have been prone to in recent years. The man advantage doesn’t mean all out careless offense. |

No one, no one said it means all out careless offense. That’s extremely foolish. If personnel calls for two D that’s fine, and maybe with injuries that’s the case. There should not be 2 D because we are scared of short handed chances. Are there any effective units in the league that use two D? |

“Effective?” When was that ever the standard that we tried to achieve on the power-play or in any other facet of the game? Come on man, get real. |

They might have what we lack: a honest commitment to rebuild. They will pick high next year + assets for Kane in particular ...

I understand.
Having said that, if you just watch hockey because you like it, and it has no bearing on Flyers chances, why not just watch say all the teams, all the other leagues, etc.? - PT21
My brain is single minded on Flyers.
Don't really have space for anything else in my melon.
Tried to bandwagon in the past never works.
Tried to switch teams to no avail.
I think mine and everyone else here has to realize and accept the suck, bad breaks etc till there is some sort of shift into another dimension of a franchise.
Not holding my breath,
this team is my personal hell.

Watch if you want, support financially and you are part of the problem. - FlyerFan3260
This! I won't give this sorry organization a cent of my money going forward until they put s better product on the ice.. and that won't happen until the phuckwads at the helm are all removed: feltcher, Clarke, Scott, etc... |

No oversized goalie equipment brought on the low scoring. 80’s hockey was perfect, but then came composite sticks, oversized goalie pads and the red line disappeared. It’s been a downward spiral ever since. - Shrike
I like speed, skill and finesse in hockey. When I watch video of games from the 80s, the players are slow even compared to the 90s. They look even slower with all the clutch and grab. Those things you mentioned all contributed but clutch and grab continued through the 90s and early 2000s. I have some bias against the 80s because it was 2 dynasties with only MTL and CGY winning outside of the dynasties. I don’t think the 80s was perfect but we’ll just have to disagree.

It makes no sense. Chychrun wants to win now. I could see him becoming disgruntled. Fletcher would be tone deaf to trade for him.

Yes, but he lacks a Minnesota connection.
Edit: nhl.com says he was born in FLA |

Flyers hockey is back. Funny thing is Torts isnt all that big on fighting. Wonder if the GM and advisors knew this prior to his hiring. Their version of tough to play against and Torts differ greatly. - furio16 Torts has the right idea. The other turds should all be sent packing yesterday! Thanks and please FIRE CHUCK!!

What if I could find an ineffective NHL power play with two defensemen on it? Like, what kind of question is this? |

Blackhawks.
1. Canes
2. Avs
3. Rangers
4. Red Wings
5. Wild (just needed to ditch Chuckie I guess)
6. Tampa
7. Leafs
8. Kings
9. Senators
10. Sabres - Big_E_88
Sabres 10? Cant be. We don’t want wind up like buffalo 🙄 |

Ha! Actually, the two competing standards will be “awful” and “excellent.” The problem with “good” and “bad” is that they are much too close to each other. You need two poles that are much further apart than that. Otherwise, you could end up with some inadvertent agreement. That is too risky to be allowed. - iamscore2day

Philadelphia is slowly replacing the Sabres using their spare parts...hire their former skills coach, trade for Risto. Meanwhile Buffalo is using Philly's draft picks to stack talent. They've endured a ton of crap, but have quietly put together a team with a bright future. |
