Thanks, sadly they do this to us constantly, so we never really know when it's going to be for real (probably the one time I don't take it seriously). - daddytc
trust me I know -- the weather channel was hyping that the emerald coast needed to be prepared - from Pensacola to Biloxi all weekend.
I got hit with Sandy two years ago in mid September and Ivan 18 years ago

Yes it exist to beat dead horses like Hextall is better blah blah blah all summer long.
Just saying that I'm watching for what little entertainment I can derive from watching hockey.
It is what it is, a preseason game for a team that I'm a fan.
I get you are watching hockey only when it fits for you and your life.
All good I get it. - konalover711
I dont understand why you are getting so defensive. I don't remember doing any proselytizing in my post You should do whatever you feel you should. 😀

I'd like to see Sanheim dress for more preseason games. Specifically to get more PP time.
He needs to pay his dues so he can get more PP time this season. If he bangs a few more bodies and loses a few more teeth I think he'll be ready. - StepfordSam
I'm not sure why anyone thinks Sanheim will suddenly get more PP time now. They traded three picks to bring in a PP specialist to replace the corpse of a PP specialist that was sent out for 77 games last season. And York was used ahead of Sanheim on the PP last season when he was up, and now he's most likely going to in the NHL for the full season.

Sanheim shouldn’t sniff the PP, and hopefully Provy doesn’t either. TDA and York should be on the two units |

That's why I watch. Hockey player evaluation isn't my job nor am I trained in it. Besides, I think it would be very difficult to accurately (or at least fairly) assess any player by watching a television broadcast. - Scoob
I am too intense a guy for that attitude. I am not mellow like you. Either I am emotionally vested or I am totally not. And nowadays, I am a bit more prudent with the vesting. 😀 |

Ek says he is hearing a possible in season trade with the Flyers for Chychrun if some of the Flyers youth show something early. Ek has impeccable sources. - Minnyhock
Chych may be a good player, but he's another guy who is often injured. I'd rather avoid that. |

If he's not on the PP, Provorov will pout like a dictator whose genius invasion turned out to be a disaster.
Look for him to be shoehorned onto PP2 with York.

JVR needs PP time. He can be effective on the PP. We're paying him a good deal of money and not using him on the PP. ?? |

He is right though ... in a technical sense. The Comcast business model is transparently based on die hard fans tuning in for the slightest excuse. |

Yup. Nice player but can’t stay healthy. Arizona is expecting far too much in return for a guy who misses about 25% of every season. |

Just merely thought it odd for you to not watch cause I can tell you are a fan, due to being a reg here.
I get your reasoning though.
We have different views on preseason hockey.

I was actually raising a somewhat technical point. Not trying to be moralistic at all.

In my opinion, they should use three defensemen on the PP anyway. One on the top unit. Two on the second unit in case we are unsuccessful and an opposing player comes out of the box. This also good for line changes. |

We should not be catering a unit to a guy coming out of the box. That’s a situational adjustment you make depending on how much time is left on the man advantage or for the players out there to be aware If out for an extended period. |

I understand.
Having said that, if you just watch hockey because you like it, and it has no bearing on Flyers chances, why not just watch say all the teams, all the other leagues, etc.? |

Really. Clutch and grab results in low scoring, boring defense and lack of respect and enforcement of the rules of the game. Removing clutch and grab means defenders have to move their feet to play defense. Clutch and grab hockey is just ugh. - Minnyhock
No oversized goalie equipment brought on the low scoring. 80’s hockey was perfect, but then came composite sticks, oversized goalie pads and the red line disappeared. It’s been a downward spiral ever since. |

Great! So there'll be six pages of how good and how bad Morgan Frost played tomorrow. - rayc16
Ha! Actually, the two competing standards will be “awful” and “excellent.” The problem with “good” and “bad” is that they are much too close to each other. You need two poles that are much further apart than that. Otherwise, you could end up with some inadvertent agreement. That is too risky to be allowed. |

It's comical...He states Chychrun's comments about not wanting to endure a long rebuild is a reason he wants to move, then turns around and attempts end mentions the Flyers possibly pursuing him? Because this organization is going places and isn't facing a possible long rebuild itself? I'd stay with Armstrong in Arizona before I accepted a move to Philadelphia with Fletcher and company at the helm. |

Frost has 2 "scoring" wingers on line tonight. So we shall see what he does against a Buffalo team.
