Yorkie knows... and Full disclosure, I don’t enjoy lumping on a player. It makes me feel dirty, but it’s part of the job now.
22 lacks awareness, puck poise, and lately looks like he’s skating with a weight vest on. Even just pivoting the wrong way, poor gap. I give up. |

That’s a tough break for zaitsev, bouncing puck , bad luck, happens to the best of them. But it sure seems the he and the puck are not the best of friends whenever I watch him. |

Zero chance he plays. Pressure is on to win now and he’s not in top 6. |

Sens are going to have 4 very good forward lines.
Hard to believe that Pinto will start the season as a rookie eligible for the Calder trophy.
Sanderson and Brannstrom played solid games. But the back end still needs a fix. Sens outshot Montreal by better than 2:1 and yet the game was tied 4-4 at the end of regulation time.
Pretty sure tonight is the last time we will see Zaitsev in an Ottawa uniform.
I thought Brassard played a nice game. When they put him on the ice to start the overtime, I wondered if he might make it as the 12th or 13th forward.
This is going to be a very good team if they can get the back end sorted out.

Agreed on the 4 lines, but DJ better not start Gambrelle here for game 1....no way!
check out my posts on Zaitsev tonight.
Brassard did have a solid game....

How was Sogaard? - Not_Yan
Solid! This guy will be a starter in a few years! Next year possibly the back up in Ottawa. One more year in Belleville will server him well. |

Obviously some high-quality PP on display... Giroux looks like he'll be very effective at just quietly keeping the puck moving to the right places, and his 12/17 face-off performance is a welcome sight. Pinto was a lot better in the face-off circle as well, and it was nice to see him showing off his shot. DeBrincat has a really nice quickness to his release... it's not hard to see why he's so productive. Brannstrom seemed a lot more engaged in this game as well... when he uses his speed, it really makes him so much more effective.

Great points....all on mark! I wonder if Branny can duplicate this effort night in and out?!

Good % prop bet-Jake Sanderson wins Calder trophy. Going to play over 20 min/game & play PP & in all situations. So far looks ready for big minutes plus Sens have no choice except to play him a ton because they are so thin on D. |

Where is every single person questioning whether I wanted to play this guy in the top 4 / 2nd pairing?
Dawson Mercer played 82 games. Lucas Raymond has played 82. I get their forwards, Braden Schneider played 43 games last year and 20 playoff games. Jamie Drysdale drafted right after Sanderson has 105 under his belt. There's no doubt that Sanderson can NOT play and play a lot if he's healthy and not showing significant issues |

On Zaitsev: DJ Smith (coaches in the past for the Sens) have had too much say in the players coming in. Sometimes it makes sense but getting Zaitsev because DJ thought he was an "elite defender" and then the way he's playing right now --- it's just beyond frustrating.
This is why I'm not in favor of giving Zub anything longer than 3 years (and that after half a season of proving he's still at a high level). Zaitsev was amazing in his rookie season but having 1, 2 strong seasons is very common |

Wonder what the hold up is with Formenton. I did not think it would take until October. I don't know if it has something to do with what's going on off the ice --- I don't think he's tradeable, true? |
