In the end they only grade you based on success or failure. Whether or not your pants were soiled during the process matters not. Sending the kid back to junior is by no means chickening out.

Not giving him an opportunity to make Bjork comfortable is a fireable action.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a game or 3. Get him assimilated to the actual NHL level of play. Then he knows where to be when hes back next year of at the end of the season.
Sabres coach Don Granato said the plan is for Matt Savoie to play in at least one more preseason game.
"There’s so many things to be excited about. I think the more experience we can immerse him in while he is here, the better and faster he will acclimate."
But at the end of the day, does 1 or 3 games really mean anything? Let him go back to his junior team's camp and get ready for the year. Training camp battles are for the vets, not the kids that aren't shaving yet.
Also (and I know many of you don't like to hear this), there is no reason to start his contract clock ticking yet. If any of them came in and blew the doors down then maybe there is a different conversation to be had. Hell, Paterka may have been our best forward in the training camp games last year. Sending him down was the right move.

The rest of league disagrees. The game has gotten younger.
And he gets 9 games before he loses the year.
And yes 3 games would do him wonders IMO. Preseason only shows so much. Showing him the actual pace of a game and having him play through it.

Comrie still needs to win the starting job over Craig Anderson, who, at 41 years old, remains determined to be in the crease every night. Three preseason games remain. Comrie, though, showed that he has the poise to handle difficult moments in games where his teammates need time to find their game.

Does it take away from evaluating other players. Are Adams decisions with this team going to have to come quicker because of certain prospects pushing sooner than expected - Buff36
have we not seen enough of girgens and sheahan though?

I can see why when Sabres had ten RD that Krugastank tried Montour up on the wing. https://twitter.com/James...preseason-bennett-montour
Down 4 at the time, but FL D will jump up on the play like that even when it’s tied. Last year anyway, we’ll see if Maurice tries to rein them in at all. Idk about him as their coach, even though I really don’t know all that much about him, I just don’t know what to expect with him as coach. Jets always seemed to underwhelm from what I thought they might do each season.
