Matt Savoie will get at least one more preseason game, said Sabres coach Don Granato, who is impressed with the ninth overall pick's ability to keep up with the increased pace with the NHL group and what he brings at both ends of the ice.

if he is one of the 9 best skilled players and size is not an issue
he should get some games to start the season |

I’m not a fan of this. There is no reason. Risk injury and We have the depth. Send him back to the major J Maybe bring him back in the back end instead. |

This is such a boring and uninspiring take. Fear earns a paycheck, confidence makes money.
If he earns the right to take a spot, give him the chance. What a corporate zombie mindset response. |

Does it take away from evaluating other players. Are Adams decisions with this team going to have to come quicker because of certain prospects pushing sooner than expected |

Is anyone really pushing right now? After watching him hold Quinn back last year, we know his mentality on this. |

Why and how is there a connection through this? If training camps are to fight for rosters spots, even if only a few are available than regardless of draft position the player showing the most promise stays up.
Internal competition is healthy and it’s Adams job to create that, which includes tough/strong decision making. |

Being a GM requires a level of fluidity on top of disciplined structure, if he is stuck in a neck down development approach than get used to drafting top 10 |

..... corporate zombie mindset? Seriously? The best thing for him is to go back and stay the course. Doing the job makes money - whether you are scared or confident doing it could not be less relevant.

Was anyone expecting Kozak or Savoie or Kulich to be looking this good. Competition is good, but unless Adams has changed his thought process there isn't camp battles. And can't properly evaluate, because you have to speed up that evaluation process. |

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a game or 3. Get him assimilated to the actual NHL level of play. Then he knows where to be when hes back next year of at the end of the season.
Sabres coach Don Granato said the plan is for Matt Savoie to play in at least one more preseason game.
"There’s so many things to be excited about. I think the more experience we can immerse him in while he is here, the better and faster he will acclimate."

Understand and incorporate structure, fluidity when needed. These kids have out played nhl rostered players, what message are you sending to them returning them after this performance, playing these dog poop players in the nhl and finishing bottom 10? What’s the point of trying for the Sabres? |
