Florida absolutely has to dump Bob now with Knights new contract kicking in. Would be 15 million in goalies.

See what they are willing to give up to do so.

Bob at 40% retained + what.

They've given Berube a PTO... looks like they might be trying to trade him away.

(Iirc) The full NMC goes down to a certain number of teams on his No trade list the last two years of the deal.

Edit, and Bob’s deal the last couple of years has the big cap hit, but that’s not what he’ll actually be getting paid. A lot of bonuses and being paid more for the first few years than in the final years of the deal. Cap floor teams may be interested without a huge add from FL, but they’ll probably be on Bob’s no trade list. Zito certainly has his work cut out for him.

I wonder how much he knows about ASU?

https://degrees.apps.asu....init=false&nopassive=true

He can be an RA immediately and gets a custom golf cart for campus transportation

Honestly the Panthers are set up pretty well. You lose 10M in Yandle and Hornqvist. Backfill with a few comp forwards and D you're still under even with..14.5M.. in goal.

Girgensons brings a strong 200' game normally required at C.
That said, it is another development and evaluation year, so I can see them testing out all sorts of combinations.

- Boss34

As I said previously, Girgss at 4C is perfect for the team in this his swansong season as a Saabre.

Nothing to see here, but thanks for the support.

This is true, but in 23/24 their defensive corp is: Ekblad, Montour, Forsling, and Sjalin. That's, well, not great.

He was very good for Rochester in the playoffs last year, Donnie was his coach for 2yrs at the USNDP Program. I can tell you he likes what he brings. He probably won't be in the top 6, but I think he is your 7-8.
- Buff36

7D is always a funny decision. If they like Fitz, they might prefer to take the small risk and have him playing games in Roch than sitting in the press box. Top 6 seems set and not a situation where the 7D is ever dressing (barring injury).

Clague is an interesting option as well. He's younger than Pilut and Fitz, has more NHL games than either, and may be the best player of them. One of the UFA signings could easily end up landing that spot.

Cap flexibility was the biggest reason Hubie and Weegar were traded entering the last year of their deals when Tkachuk suddenly became available. Tkachuk for 8 years at what Hubie and Weegar current expiring deals equal to.

They’ll be all right. Carlsson can play, and Gudas isn’t terrible and brings the physical game. Kierstad shows some promise. Next season Zito will be adding to the defense with the cap space created from Hubie/Tkachuk trade and from Yandles buyout hit going way down and Hornqvist deal expiring.

Why on earth would you want a 34 yo G who plays at an avg .906 last 3 years costing $6m with a full NMC for 4 more years?
Even a 1st as a sweetner is likely a 25th pick or worse.
I would want a better sweetner

They're 3.3mil in the hole right now. Hornqvist doesn't come off till next year. Yandle already retired
