I'm in Orlando. It was an interesting night. Not sure I've ever seen that much rain. Even from Charley, Francis and Gene.
Still have power and internet. Woohoo. Still windy out. But nothing like last night. - burner087
I remember when Hugo hit South Carolina in 89, I was Stationed at Ft. Stewart. My SRT Team got called up to do Security and Rescue. Seeing some of those pictures from Florida brings back memories. God Speed!! |

It's tough to learn a lot of these preseason games. Quinn and Peterka need to have strong showings though. - TheSabresTaco
It was beyond boring to watch, I stopped early in the 2nd. I dont know what coaches/management get out of these scrimmages.

Sadly, I hear the Lee County (Ft Myers) sheriff says there are “hundreds” of fatalities there. |

evaluating these are tough because there's not a lot of structure and the (current) NHL talent is often spotty. What coaches are looking for is how individuals, especially fringe prospects, react to certain situations. Their game speed, awareness, skill translation. These games are also used for conditioning. Special teams are usually going to be sloppy. Missed opportunities, inconsistent play is normal until the lineup is pared down almost to all NHL caliber players.
It serves a use but the macro results are useless.

Mitts, Rosen and let’s gamble on our talent, a Non protected 1st.
That’s a solid haul for Dallas if things are going sour with Robertson and his demands. They get a young player with potential still in Mitts, a 1st round wing in Rosen and a potential lottery first. Ballsy by KA with our projected win total but that goes up with Robertson, and let’s the team know we are ready to win |

Sandin signs 2x1.4 (projected 1.6) which leaves the leaves payroll at about 2.9M. 23/23 roster spots taken, no one to go to LTIR. I'll ask again, when are they moving Kerfoot. |

I get Adams wants to develop his own guys but I mean this move is right up the gut for what this team is aiming for. Like right (frank)ing there. Use the currency, there are a ton of quality young forwards in the org. |

Do you think this is another Skinner situation, where Dallas can't(won't) pay him and are moving in another direction? If so, what direction do you think?
Unless Dallas gives up on Robertson there is no way that a project player with injury history and a high risk 1st round pick years away will suffice. |

If Dallas were to accept less than 3 first round equivalents for Robertson they'd be fools. Unless they're making a hockey trade for a Dahlin level player, they need to bring back a ton. |

I know you have, and a few others have said things and got ripped apart for it. And Love the player and would go and get him myself. Just think it's funny how some have flipped. - Buff36
People cant change opinions? Must be stuck with the same mindset for life?
We're also talking about 2 different players.

So you're giving up nothing that really hurts from a Sabres player or prospect perspective except the 2023 1st round pick.
Why would Dallas accept that deal? |

I think Krebs, Quinn, and Kulic or another prospect of his level will do it. I would substitute Vic for any of those 3, but not be happy about it |

The Sabres haven't had a 40g ppg player since Vanek 06-07. |

There are people on this thread who really undervalue Robertson or really overvalue unproven talent.

The odds any of these three become as good as Robertson already is are long. Quinn is clearly the best piece on the Sabres side as things stand now, but - on a HR - we're hoping for Quinn to become Robertson. The odds all three of these guys stick as long term NHLers, let alone top 6 players, aren't even great.
Getting guys like Robertson are, in fact, the very reason one would hoard the prospect pool the Sabres have. They cannot possibly imagine a scenario where all of their prospects pan out. That just doesn't happen.
The last 40 goal scorer we had was Skinner 18-19, before him Thomas Vanek in 08-09, not a PPG though for either. In fact, Skinner was only 63 points in all 82 games played in 18-19.
The last 40 goal PPG player we had was, again, Thomas Vanek in 06-07.
Almost 20 years since we had a player as good as Robertson is at 23 years old. But yeah two guys with about 2 games of NHL experience and Krebs.

I understand your points here. My main issue is we need a team to win, not just top talent. So as long as we don’t do a couple of these types of trades, we should be in good shape.
I know nothing about Robertson except his stats. But I do trust the GM and his team to make the correct calls here. It would be fun taking a swing here, really signifying we are ready to compete for playoffs. Let’s do this already! |

If Comrie plays to the level he did in the first period last night for 50 games.... save your pennies for playoff tickets. |
