6'3 40 goal scorer or 5'8 40 goal scorer.

Ovechkin or Gionta

Here's the way I see it. The cap space is there now. There's a pretty damn good young player potentially on the block. The top 4 on D looks pretty good to me for the foreseeable future. Go get the guy if you want him, without getting totally butt plugged in the trade. If it means you can't sign a good young guy from within the system 4 years from now, so be it. If enough of them pan out where it becomes an issue I'll consider it all a success anyways. Trade Said guy for the return you're giving up now to get this player 4 years from now and keep rolling because it'll mean the team is great anyways. IMO.

To quote you, at the end of the day all that matters are the stats. So I'll take either, both, whatever. Good problem to have.

And lets not pretend that because Robertson is 6'3" he's as physically as intimidating or nearly as good as Ovi.

If the Stars are stupid enough to trade Robertson everyone in that organization should be fired.

Jason Robertson, at 23, would be the best player on the Buffalo Sabres the day we acquired him. Would turn my opinion on Adams 180 degrees. I would trade any two in the prospect pool not named Power and laugh all the way to the scoreboard every night watching this guy light the lamp and grow into his 6'3" frame. Can we throw in Krebs before they watch video on him?

Hell, I'd probably trade Power heads up for Robertson.

I wouldn’t trade a 1st overall player for Robertson.

You can get Robertson without power. I’m sure the trade offer was not as bad as this message board made it out to be

Again. Like I said before. Only 3 nhl teams can comfortably afford to bring in Robertson.

We are the only team interested.

So like the Sabres with moving orielly to the blues. Sometimes you are stuck trade wise

I still think the stars leverage isn’t great.

Even if they dip into the LTIR. They would still need cap space for injuries and call ups. They wouldn’t have that

I think Dallas’s needs would be at the forward position.

They’ve invested some in defense and If Robertson goes they have aging top forwards

U think PPG, 40 goal scorers grow on trees? He's already better than Jack(off) was when we traded him injured and older.

They still have Hintz and two very strong forward prospects in Johnston and Stankoven.

They have him under team control for 5 more years. How much stronger can leverage get?

Trade talk is fun, but this most likely ends with him simply extending in Dallas.

2 months ago the Sabres weren't ready for a big splash, now all off a sudden they are. This board is wacky!!

I would say one for one, but if that's the price I would rather Power. No matter what Power is going to be, he's a rookie this year and will have rookie growing pains. Get ready for 26 this year. He could have had three goals last night. his ability to create his own space in the O zone is uncanny.
