Ryan Johnson isn't the center piece of this deal by a mile. Robertson demands a bigger package then almost any winger recently traded, and probably very close to MT. You're looking probably at bare minimum JJP, 1st (top 10 protected), maybe then a Ryan Johnson (because he becomes a 2nd) and at least another asset.

Robertson is just coming off his ELC. Much better team situation.

Now you're talking. Savoie as the centerpiece and Samuelsson as the young guy you really don't want to lose.

It would be hard to say no to that. Robertson would instantly become their top F.

Double what it would have taken to get Debrincat or Fiala. People want to make this splash now, when we could have gotten discount prices a few months back. Funny Sh!t!!

It is going to hurt to make a trade for Robertson in terms of what the Sabres need to give up to get him, unless Dallas is totally inept.

This is definitely true. Viewing it from Adams side, I can see how we weren't getting much for dead contracts, and had we gone after a live one, if he'd want that guy here.

Kulikov got FC. Calgary got a 1st in 3 years for dumping Monahan. As a Sabres fan wanting to be better this year, is that a deal you make? He's been atrocious.

The one deal I really liked was Bjorkstrand for a 3rd and a 4th. Maybe send Columbus Mitts in that deal as a one for one.

Dallas only has 6.3 million left in cap space.


Even if they sign him, they would need to shed some cap space.


So they really don’t have much leverage here. They definitely have some but not all

The Sabres are one of the few teams that can afford to sign him too
