The Toronto Maple Leafs.

Is it? I think Mike linked a podcast or something that I am sure no one listened to. Maybe his podcast is about the storm or Bertuzzi’s vaccination status. I have no idea.

What's the guess on regulars in the lineup for Wed....

I'm thinking at least 60% - Top 2 lines. Top 4D and then the rest guys trying to make the squad...

- dozerD10

While I know there's a specific amount of regulars they need in the line up, I am unaware of what it actually is but I think it would closer to the minimum for Wednesday. Only because I think it's a last showcase for a number of guys.

Without looking, what’s the topic of the blog?
- Canada Cup

I don't know the point of your question, other than to be a smart ass it seems. However, it's the Sunday podcast blog, as per his usual. So what's the point in your question?

The reason I said top 2 lines and esp top 4 D... is because it's MM 1st game and if they run out a bunch of guys looking to make the squad and MM get's shelled... well I don't need to point out how that's gonna look... Preseason or not...

Honest answer. The C of C that tells us to stay on topic is hardly helpful when no one knows what the topic is. Cush telling us not to continue the discussion on vaccinations because people get (frank)ed up on that topic is more helpful in redirecting the conversation,

IMO, the C of C is kind of silly in places. Guessing Ek’s identity and sourcing rumours that we post and not “stealing rumours” don’t really have much va,use

You guys have a tough job and do it well when you just use your common sense. Just my general observations.

We remarked on the neatness as well. It’s like people live more laid back lives (no 2 hour commutes for example) and have more time and commitment to their properties

When people ask me about PEI, I always say this:

"You probably have this weird cartoon image in your head of potato fields, rolling hills, red sand beaches, wooden houses. That's exactly what it is like. In fact, it's more cartoonish than you can imagine."

The topic is hockey and should be hockey, we have allowed non-hockey talk that was not controversial but if that's too hard for everyone to follow life could be made to be a lot easier for Dozzer, Aaron and I here if we just delete anything non-hockey related.

Let's not go there shall we & maybe lets not wait until a referee has to tell everyone to stop discussing a topic. How about instead everyone is proactive and just not start or continue discussions on topics that have proven to be and are well known to be controversial like COVID Vaccines, Rules around Covid and politics as a start.

Thx

There’s 76 skaters 6 goalies in camp and 36 and 3 have played. I don’t know if they’re going to give everyone a shot or make some cuts of guys even if they don’t get into a game. Probably the latter. Still, I think lots of mix and match again on Wednesday. I doubt they know what their top two lines are anyway.

Does anyone slappa da'bass?
My 13 year old seems to be getting interested in playing some bass.
I picked up a Squier affinity precision bass pj package for $450 plus tax. Ive been looking for months for used didnt find anything close to the price without having to buy also but a cable, strap and soft case....that went well over $500 (although it was a 25 w amp)
Now I know for hard core peeps, the Squier affinity precision bass pj with 15W fender rumble may be something you look down upon...but it should be good for a beginner in that price range?
I also looked at an Ibanez guitar, traynor amp (it was pretty pricey) and a 25w fender rumble.
So did I pay too much, are there better beginner bass equipment? Any feedback appreciated.

(Not sports related I realize, but I know there are some guitar players on here)

That’s what I was trying to say. I agreed when you cut off the Covid talk and let the storm talk continue.

some of those are Jr players and the other are the Marlies.

I think since the club needs to dress 8 regulars for the game, I can see a lot of Marlie bound players playing in the next 2 pre-season games

Did knies show up for camp or has school already started? Seems odd that he wouldn’t go to a bit of camp regardless.

I have never seen a college draftee at a training camp when he wasn't signed to some type of a contract. If signed to a contract, he isn't in college hockey any more.

That leaves 3 games for final decisions for those on the bubble and to tune up for season opening.

Edit - More info

Waivers doesn’t open until Friday so anyone needing waivers to go to Marlies can’t go till then. And their camp probably won’t open till Monday so the waivers exempt won’t go till then.

The thing for me isn’t so much that Dubas has made mistakes, it is how he has altered course and/or corrected them. One of the things overlooked has been that complete overhaul of front office and how we use the minors and develop players. Despite a rough go in playoffs, can’t say we don’t have a pretty damn good team. The other thing is ok Dubas is out, just who is coming in? Not really sure there is someone thats going to be cut and dry way better. And as previously said I think he gets snapped up fast if let go too.

As for roster its going to be rather curious with the bottom guys and who might push themselves into the conversation like Malgin if he keeps performing well like that. I’d expect the junior guys and first year Marlies guys will likely head to Marlies camp soon and body numbers decrease. Going to want to start seeing who meshes with the locked in regulars soon.

Like I said, I don’t think they want Murray to be exposed, or subjected to a poor showing, preseason or not. So I could see more regulars on D than perhaps up front.

He doesn't overpay the Hymans and Mikheyevs which I personally think is one of the most important thing he does for the teams future.

And maybe he doesn't do that because Shanny gives him a leash on his job

You might be right but I highly doubt it. Currently there is only 4 D of their starting lineup not hurt (well Muzzin might be back shortly) and that would make it risky to play all of them because they truly can’t afford another one getting hurt atm… so keep them in a low key role to ensure you got them for game 1 of the regular season (and the last couple games of preseason when it’s essentially the regular season roster)
