Everything’s good - had a bit of a family gathering this weekend, which was nice. Very busy with work, but that’s the status quo these days.

How’s it going on your end?

- RickJames77

Good to hear.
Ya had family gathering with my GF's side this weekend, but all seems well right now.

3 years will get Dubas through resigning AM, MM, and JT for 1m...but it is just shy him being around to sign McDavid.
He'll have to earn another extension for that.

- Fakepartofme

He’ll be around to trade for McDavid when he asks to get out of that poophole team.

Wonder if the new policy makes trades for some players more intriguing... I'm looking at you Bertuzzi. Not sure there were others that drew a lot of interest but their vax status made them unlikely to be dealt.

- dozerD10

why would anyone want to trade for such a vile human?

Agreed.
Heck over the flu season, I may toss on mask for the grocery store.

- Fakepartofme

Same plan here. Being retired, we nit pick our grocery shopping days to avoid the crowd traffic. Mask thing is no problem any more

Thanks for that -(well the hockey part at least)

Ok folks someone shared the gov't mandate around travel is being lifted - we are all now informed.

Let's not now spend time commenting on it here so we don't end up with the unfortuate name calling etc. that sometimes comes from it when there are opposing views and opinions.

Thx

- Cush29

Looks like you've got us started on the straight and narrow road for this season. Impressed.

They better hope not. If Holland gets a fat extension it’ll screw them over for a long long time.

Brunswickers are fine for the most part. A few power outages on the east side

Hearing there are a half million without in N.S. Probably be a few days before Shack and Bix are up and running.

Think Nflder's got it heavy too.

Pics I saw of PEI looked like it was more water damage. Maybe because it’s more low lying?

Strange thing with these tropical storms/ hurricanes. No weather guru, but I always thought the wind would be coming from the same direction as the front itself was moving. Never the same. This past one had strong winds from the north west.

Im thinking one. - 3 years.
Two or more - 5 years
Outside of Dubas's initial four scoring lines mentality (which he has now changed thankfully) a couple of questionable contracts, NMC/NTC's hand out and ugh trade here or there (which every single GM has). I feel Dubie has done a decent job, has had some great signings and trades.

- Fakepartofme

I am a Dubas fan but yes I see his mistakes. I just think he's been pretty decent at fixing them when he recognizes them. As well, he's done a job to keep the future of the team in mind (yes he's traded firsts but that's the cost of contendership). He's left a lot of flexibility for when his big guys come up for contracts again.

It's very reminiscent of when they first brought in seatbelt laws.

Like, dude, just shut up and buckle up. It may save your life.

- Atomic Wedgie

I've got no problem sliding a mask on during cold and flu season if I'm out travelling in a crowd or sitting in a generic meeting with a bunch of randoms. If this whole thing altered anything for me it was how easy it is to reduce my chances of getting a bug ...any bug ..and then of course passing that to my elderly parents.

Our office policy is reduced to pure simplicity - you're sick? Work from home. You're a little off and have to come in ...where a mask. And if you walk out of the bathroom without washing your hands ....you get a punch to the throat.

Cush, Dozzer and I decided to post the CoC weekly in the blog as the season approaches. This way everyone has been warned about the rules to play by. We are deleting posts for the most part right now but that will come to an end and we will just hand out bans to keep the peace.

1. Decisions made by Moderators are final
Mods are volunteers dedicated to keeping the forums civil and hockey talk flowing. If you don’t want to face bans, follow the code of conduct. Often Mods will warn before banning, but they aren’t required to. You are assumed to have read this Code of Conduct.

Occasionally a moderator will delete an offending post (and following posts that quote it) without banning. If that happens to you, consider yourself lucky to have avoided the ban and move on without comment.

2. Please keep threads on-topic
Try to keep things on-topic. If Eklund writes a blog on Eastern Conference trade rumors, and you want to talk about the latest NHL video game, please locate the appropriate thread, or create a new one, in the forums.

And yes, there is some more leeway given for general discussion on the threads of the team’s bloggers. But when the thread is devoted to discussing hockey, keep to the point at hand.

3. No foul language or vulgarity
This is a general audience website. This means the content should be appropriate for guests of all ages. We don’t want HockeyBuzz to show up on an unsafe site screen.

Steer clear of using any of George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can't Say on Television". The filter is there for a reason, if you change a word in order to foil the filter, you will get a timeout.

The moderators will decide what's out of line. But if it is not safe for work (NSFW), it is out of line.

4. Respect HockeyBuzz
We welcome links to hockey news or commentary that will generate discussion at HockeyBuzz. Please do not post links to other hockey forums, rumor sites, or fantasy hockey sites, which obviously are our direct competitors. Also, do not use HockeyBuzz to promote products or unrelated websites.

5. Respect the HockeyBuzz Bloggers
Bloggers should be treated with respect at all times. They do a lot of work behind the scenes to dig up information for you. If you want to disagree with them, that's OK, but whether you agree or disagree, do not attack them personally.

6. Respect your fellow HockeyBuzzers
No name calling. And you’re not being clever if you say “any moron knows” or “only an idiot doesn’t understand.” You’re being disrespectful. Talk more about hockey and less about each other. Although playful banter is allowed, that does not mean anything goes, if the banter breaks any part of the code of conduct, it isn’t playful and it is not acceptable. When “Player X stinks" turns into "You stink" you've crossed the line. And yes, the Moderators decide where the line is.

No racial slurs or otherwise derogatory comments based on the target's assumed race, religion, gender, country, sexual orientation, or language. This goes not only for posters and bloggers but for players, management, officials, their families, and others in the public eye. This is a hockey forum for hockey discussion, take hate speech elsewhere.

Do not threaten or intimidate others—posters or bloggers. Just don't do it. If you threaten another member, expect a long, long ban.

It is not against the rules for someone to disagree with you.

7. No trolling and no feeding the trolls
All posters are welcome in all threads, regardless of team loyalty, to discuss hockey. But do not post merely to inflame or disrupt.

Do not engage those who are out to disrupt the thread. Simply hit the post report button "!" and the Mods will deal with it from there.

Do not correct the spelling and grammar of other posters. Their errors may make you question how much credence to give their opinions, that’s up to you, but correcting their lapses is rude and trollish.

To add. The properties there are keep immaculate, large lawns are mowed very neatly and the farm fields are endless. Potatoes and canola everywhere. Seems there is no wasted growing space.
Impressive to visit every so often.

Yeah, I was just there. Saw a pic of a parking lot we passed completely underwater. It was on an inlet some miles from the Gulf.

We remarked on the neatness as well. It’s like people live more laid back lives (no 2 hour commutes for example) and have more time and commitment to their properties

What's the guess on regulars in the lineup for Wed....

I'm thinking at least 60% - Top 2 lines. Top 4D and then the rest guys trying to make the squad...

I’m not sure about that. My buddies that live in PEI/NS say there are more Ontario license plates than locals. They complain about ontarians non stop. Kind of like BCers with Albertans.
