wouldn't it make more sense if the hockey season started early to mid september, instead of ending in June? then regular season would end in like late march, early april. seems like a good time to end regular season. and cup awarded in early - mid may in a normal year. still a bit late but at least they're not awardnign the cup in the summer anymore.

Yep and every year players make the team or don’t make the based, in part, on their performance in these games.

There are 13 players looking for 6 spots on the 3rd and 4th lines. Maybe 9 or so have real shots. A few guys played well and helped themselves. I few didn’t help themselves and don’t have that many games left.

Same thing for guys trying to find spots on the top lines.

I agree that preseason doesn’t mean much evaluating the team as a whole. I’ve sat in the stands watching my kid try out for teams often enough to know that they matter for a lot of players.

But for guys like Kerfoot - the extended core and the core...its just warm ups.

I just call it the Dome, and the rink on Bay Street I don't even know what that's called anymore. I wish Big Milk bought that too so it was called the Milk Centre.

The MLB is fine with the record and pretty much allowed what occurred to occur.

They’ll probably make the first set of cuts after Wednesday’s game with another bunch coming on Friday. That leaves 3 games for guys to really ramp up and for those on the bubble to get their last looks.

I’m not sure if teams want the extra games for a few more $ or to get a chance to see how some players who aren’t going to make the team actually look playing against NHL’ers. I thought their draft pick Minten looked pretty good. There’s no way he’s close to making the team but from a player development perspective, that might be good info and probably good experience for him. That doesn’t happen if there are only 4 exhibition games.

That's fine, Im ok with that. They can evaluate during other opportunities.
I know they wont cut back preseason games, due to the money they make and the practice/development they provide. Understandable.
I feel the same with the MLB preseason, too many games.

Oh I can move one out....but Im still tied to watching it if its leafs playoffs.
However, it would be a nice change from the past 20 years to see a 2nd or third round with the leafs.

As much as I think they're wrong, I can at least understand people not wanting a vaccine. it's injecting something into your body

I'll never understand why people get so upset about masks. it's pretty harmless.
