Much better if we focus on hockey banter rather than driving away new posters. This isn’t the ol boys club.

I’ll be focussing on quicker & better break outs. See if it leads to less time hemmed in our zone & more puck possession time on the rush. Not to worried about the O-zone with the F depth we have.

If Poolman is healthy I hope he’s the 7th D given his lack of offense & imo struggles on breakouts.

OEL Hughes
Dermott Myers
Bones Schenn
Poolman

Hughes & OEL will be a dynamic force.

Hoping to see Dermott play more by instinct & let his offense come. Myers play mean & not pin himself into off the boards & out.

Schenn should be a settling influence once again for a skating offensive D partner. Bones isn’t Hughes but his skating & smarts & skills will be a big bonus if he adjusts & lets the game come to him. In transition is where he’ll really shine. Big shot fills need.

Depth D at best imo

Too bad he’s hard to unload. Stuck with him unless a suitor found at the TDL.

The fact that management is on record saying this defense is good with Poolman returning shows that they see him more of a top 4.

When it’s all said & done with who or when the Canucks find a top 4 RHD will be this mgmt’s biggest move.

They are worth a lot unfortunately, need to draft them and develop them.

When was the last time the Canucks picked up a top 4 D at the TDL?

PA said the D was good with Poolman returning when asked about the state of it.

Not good without Poolman,,,, good with Poolman. Obviously they think higher of him than the fans do... or it's more of an ass covering since they failed to improve the D. Poolman the tipping point.... Hughes playing right side. D situation not looking very promising this season.

I see them trying to trade a winger for Bear. Not that I think that's the solution... but they've been interested in him and after a few games they probably will come to terms with having to do something.

I don't like this idea of Hughes "a work in progress" on the right. They won't have time to Green around at the start of the season.

They didnt see it a priority in the last draft. Priority was another soft Swede with a good shot who realistically won't be here for four seasons yet.

They won't part with what it takes to get a top 4 RD at the TDL. It will hurt the chemistry and playoff push they will say. They already went with that excuse last TDL and their chances are better this season. They will trade for depth which may include a RHD but a 6th 7th....

I bet by game 12 The Canucks trade for Bear. Expect Hoglander gone.

But in reality the fumble was Mikheyev and the puck ended up behind Myers.

True but it was a BPA pick. I’ve said many times I don’t subscribe to BPA but I also don’t believe in reaching in the 1st round.

BPA in the eye's of this management. They had him 7th... but he slid another 8 spots.
