I think next year should be the year they go for it.
Have I said the same thing the past few off-seasons ? Yes.
Unfortunately though when you build the right away it still takes a few years for your high picks to make meaningful contributions at the NHL level
They are building it up the same way the Bills did but donβt have the luxury of 5 guys from a rookie class playing right away. |

Did he in the last two offseasons ever offer a FA goalie a one year or two year max deal? If not, why not? The Sabres have more than enough money. Money shouldn't ever be a consideration on such a short term deal for them. We know the answer to question is no. Since the '21 offseason have the Sabres offered any of their top prospects to a team for an NHL goalie without a NTC? I think we know the answer there. Did the Sabres go cheap with Linus and watch him go to Boston? Yep.
But they brought in 6 stiffs for the league minimum. - lacaprup
Would you be happy if they traded for Price? He does make $10m, he must be great, no matter his condition.
How did it work out for Ottawa with Murray at $6.25 AAV
MAF in Chicaago, The Wild and previously in Vegas...3 cup winners right? He made $7m
Must have missed all the Cup parades in The Peg with Connor at $6.2
Shall we go on, or just admidt that money does not necessarily bring a winner?
Bad take.
I'll go with an Analytics team using data over years of play to uncover potential gems.

How long from the time of purchase to playoffs for the Pegulas owning the Bills? Yes the NFL assisted.
How long from purchase to giving the team to your wife and that team failing for the Sabres? Yes the NHL assisted. |

Who's better and more available?
If the Sabres traded dahlin for matthews?
Would you give kA a final blessing? - Boss34
Why trade for him when they could give him $15m per in FA |

sounds like it based on the tweet the one daughter posted and later removed - homiedclown
As well as the NHL article quoting Terry saying I and the organization:
"Kevyn's leadership and vision over the past two seasons has proven to be invaluable, and I am confident in his ability to continue to move us forward as an organization," Sabres owner Terry Pegula said

Umm... I'll trade our last three years with Vegas any day of the week. Any of those goalies would have made us competitive last season. There's been plenty of goalies over the last 18 months who would have made the Sabres much better.
When you have to resort to Cup or failure as your backstop argument... for the Buffalo Sabres who have missed the playoffs 11 times in a row.... you know you've lost. |

No one, that's why the Eichel trade was so devastating.

Like I said, unless you find some top end forward talent from somewhere, you're looking to be the Suter/Weber Nashville Predators. - buffalofan19
Do you know their prospect pool does not have that talent?
It could happen.
Point was a 3rd rounder...Kucherov was a let 2nd ... not that we should count on finding a Point in later rounds...but they don't always need to be a top 3 pick.

You've got to make the dance first and then anything can happen. Ask those Kings teams from the early 10s
Hell, that 19-20 Sabres team gave up and it screwed them. The team that seized that opportunity in their place was Montreal and they damn near won the whole thing. |

What is better,
21/22 - 24th
20/21 - 31st
19/20 - 25th
Does better help in the long run or did they need great?
Which goalie for Vegas other than Fluery would make the Sabres better the last 3 years?

Amen. There's a fundamentally flawed assumption to the argument for all of this patience: that is that the Sabres will immediately run to Cup. Something they've not done in their 50+ years. Sure would be nice to put a series or two on Dahlin, Vic, Cozens, etc. Dahlin looks like a guy to me who hates losing. That sort of player doesn't re up with the Sabres. If we don't have a competitive team this year, get ready for him to bolt. |

Tbf, we don't even know if Eichel is Eichel anymore. His own coach is talking about putting him on a 19-minute-a-night pitch count |

Disagree.
When you project a horrible situation as certainty before knowing what is to come, you don't have an argument. It is female doging to just female dog, which has been your mo for quite some time.
You blame 11 years on Adams, you blame Adams for the condition of the KBC, you blame Adams for not printing quality tickets, you blame Adams for not spending aa ton of money on a G, cause AVV equals wins in your head. You give him zero credit for two very good drafts, for three solid trades of malcontent dolts the previous regimes selected and botched badly.
The Org has made numerous missteps, absolutely no doubt... you laying them at the feet of Adams is ridiculous. Get a grip.
