Podkolzin is a good kid and a hard worker, but, he’s the second coming of Leo Komarov. He’s just not talented enough at the NHL level to be anything more than a serviceable tweener. And there’s nothing wrong with that! He’ll have a good NHL career in that role.

This is the first time I've seen anyone question Kuzmenko making the team. I thought it was just assumed he would be gifted a top 6 spot and they would figure out as the season went on whether or not he fits.

Kuzmenko makes the team yes. Lockwood or any other Abby bound player are not at his level to beat him out of a roster spot. He’s a play driver the real deal according to scouts and pundits.

The question should be how big an impact can the Russians make. Will it be enough to help the team make the playoffs this season?

With Canucks going with Bo, JTM & EP40 down the middle there will be good situations to shine for the wingers. More likely 3 lines that will get equal opportunities. That means whatever line Kuzmenko and the other two Russians play on they will be getting top offensive situations.
