On Joel Edmundson…

The Canadiens are listening intently and a few teams are showing a lot of interest. The Canadiens are looking for prospects…forward, goalie, defense…in that order…As many as 7 teams have talked to Montreal, but I have only nailed down three of them. The Tampa Lightning, The Winnipeg Jets, and the Seattle Kraken. Edmundson's early season injury last year was widely viewed as one of the major reasons Montreal was so slow out of the gate…For that reason. Joel was named alternate captain and it is widely speculated Montreal won’t move him early in the season…However, the offers keep getting better and this becomes more and more viable

yes, let's trade the team's current most reliable dman, that should go well. wtf.

As I said last week, you do not make an announcement about team leadership - perhaps earlier than it needed to be - just to turn around and trade one of the guys you decided was part of your leadership group 2-3 weeks later.

Sure, anyone can be traded, but I do nto think there is a huge market for him right now. Who knows at the TDL or the off-season with 1 year left on the contract...

I just do not see it happening.

Especially given the rumour the Habs are looking for another vet d-man to add to the group already.

because of the fight...? tabarnak, didn't take much lol.

honestly though I'm curious to see how he'll do during camp and pre-season games, the team sure could use some of that CHaracter.

voilà.

they're probably going to be looking for additional goalie prospects at some point but I trust that Hughes wouldn't do it at the expense of the team's most solid veteran defenseman. even at the TDL I don't think the offers will be so insanely good that the habs can't refuse them.

I know you might not think very highly about Edmundson, but would an out-of-shape Jake Gardiner actually be better than him?
