Is Stripling the Jays best starter?

Right now he’s the most reliable. Every start is a quality start and he’s never in trouble. That’s not true of any of the others even if they have better stuff. It would be tough not to have him as one of the three maybe even start game one and have Gausman or Manoah there for game two where the season is potentially on the line. But team has all the numbers on how they all match up against whoever they play so that will also be a factor.

Counter argument for Manoah first is that he’s been going a few innings longer so less likely to have to use up the pen keeping them available

I still think Gausman is their best SP by a pretty decent margin. ERA is inflated by some of the worst luck in baseball this year. Then Manoah and I'd probably give game 3 in a playoff series to Stripling right now. Berrios is too wildly inconsistent this year to trust.

Good lord, the virtue signaling by Canadian politicians (of all parties) signing books of condolence for the death of the queen is sickening.

Yes, if you add enough to lobster you can enjoy the taste of the stuff you added to the lobster. Eating boiled lobster with butter is like eating undercooked or maybe over cooked rubber….. with butter. You better really like butter.

And the Yankees are turning into the lobster of the AL East - not completely true but I’m not going to waste that imagery. Cole isn’t really dominant, other than Judge their offense is inconsistent and their bullpen isn’t great. I’d rather play them than Seattle right now.

As for Kirk, he shows that a 5 foot nothing guy can be a baseball player, and a good one.
