perhaps a package including Sandin, Kerfoot & Muzzin to Arizona, Islanders or Jersey would solves some problems.
- BorjeFan4Ever

Aside from his NMC, which could really be the largest prohibitive obstacle, I'd be reluctant to move Muzzin. His cap hit is high, but his play in the playoffs was superb. I want THAT guy on my team. If you get THAT guy for $5.6m, you're getting value. If you get the guy we had most, if not all, of the season, I'd agree we're not.

Yeah, very likely.

Half the bed would be covered with red roses, the other half covered with 12 inch spikes. Never knowing what side they'll put you on.

It'll be interesting to see what the Cap is at when we're out of this arbitrary payback period.

If you look at history the Cap conservatively went up ~ 2.5-3M per year on normal inflationary growth. That would put the Cap at 95M for the 24/25 season IF the repayment of escrow was finished and assuming everything else was equal.

I'm sure some agents will be pushing that arithmetic. Matty coming due in 24' will be interesting.

I believe he had already issued a denial of any involvement through his lawyer.

Unless he starts tossing tactical nukes (he still doesn’t win but he might stay in power)

Overpaid is overpaid.
- GreatGigInTheSky

Because you look at cap numbers based off of the number today

If you pay for 8 years you pay for the cap percentage of the projected cap in each year

Simple math

I concur

where am I going to see the game game the day after they have been played?

I think I will not be feeling to good when my wife wants to go see her friends and the Leafs game is on.

Yes, but the provinces still need to decide if they are going to declare it a holiday.

Good lord, I hope not.

I can't help but compare her death to that of the police officer Andrew Hong. His death is more relevant to our lives, imho.

I don't give a rat's ass about the death of the queen, and I sure as frank don't need a day off to mourn.

- Atomic Wedgie

It's sort of a silly argument. I couldn't give a rat's ass about the Queen living or dead. I didn't give a rat's ass about Victoria, the pilgrims or Jesus, either.

I'll still happily take the Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Victoria Day and so on. I don't even know what a Civic Day is, but I like the August long weekend. I could Google it, but it would probably turn out that it's racist.

If this is like Victoria Day, they'd probably have the funeral as a day of mourning, and if they successfully move to have an annual holiday, it would be in April - when her birthday was.

The problem if they hold one to Muzzin to long is that his contract will become an anchor.. If he struggles again this year, you have to move him sooner rather than later, or Dubas may be forced to add a draft pick just to trade him

Well when you base your “simple math” off of made up guesses about the future then it’s not so simple.

Its not guesses, its projections that are usually pretty bang on unless a once in every 100 years pandemic happens.

There's absolutely no secret that players and agents build contracts off of these projections.

Had the standard growth been at a conservative 3 - 3.5% over that time, yeah the cap would be $92m - $94.5m at the end of Matthews' deal. Some years it spiked up to 5% or 7%. With television and advertising revenue changes, this could have been even higher.

A lot people in Russia have real back luck with "falling".

"Vladimir Putin's point man for developing Russia's vast Arctic resources has died after 'falling overboard' while sailing off the country's Pacific coast.

Ivan Pechorin, 39, was managing director of Putin's Far East and Arctic Development Corporation"

Life must be very complicated for you. Everybody operates on the basis of “made up guesses about the future”. Some do a better job than others.
