Agree fully. Problem is that there isn’t a player able to fill that role unless you move up Jarnkrok which was suggested.

That’s why in my eyes Dubas really needed to add to the middle 6 of his lineup - specifically a player for JT/Willy that played a different game…skill with grit and physicality.
The odd men out to me is Sandin/Holl. With Sandin the left side is jammed and Leafs are win now. Holl isn’t much shed cap wise but still a bit and Mete or Benn can swing in. I would personally do that and keep Kerfoot until deadline and use him then to upgrade along with Robertson and Picks - that would get a return that moves the needle

I really don’t think Willie and JT are going to start the season together. Both their numbers improved when they were separated during the playoffs. My guess is that Nylander and Jarnrok flip with Kerfoot up there or maybe the kid if Kerfoot is gone and Nickie has a good camp.

But then it was brought to our attention that we overrate our prospect pool and that a trade for soto would never happen.

They probably keep Bo's hit light for another couple of years by doing 1 yr deals. The OF decisions are tougher with Springer is inching closer to his corner OF years.

trade Sandin for a younger defenseman with some size who can replace Muzzin ... or a for a right side D-man who would allow you to upgrade the right side without losing much on the left (because Sandin is currently low man on the totem pole LHD)

possible examples would be Habs - who lack seemingly any offensive defenseman... or the Islanders.

- Bo's .964 fielding percentage is 30th.
- His defensive runs saved / year is -12, which is 31st.
- His defensive plus/minus is -11, which is 33rd.

He has been great at the plate which is awesome. But he's a terrible shortstop. One of the worst in the entire league and he literally costs us runs by playing there. We don't need to lie to ourselves because we like his bat. He has well below average range and an observably terrible arm. I think Bo's future is better suited at 2nd.
