Definitely NP. Falloon at least had 4 20 plus goal seasons.

When I read the first paragraph of the blog immediately thought of Kapanen and Tocchet. Two favorites and absolute hard workers For his time in Philly alone Richards gets an honorable mention, Not as talented as some of the other 03 Draft Class, he sure hustled his all every shift early on here. Roman was one of my absolute favorite goalies to watch, but if we could just judge it in the regular season he would be in the mix, however all I can remember is how disinterested he looked in that heartbreaking Buffalo playoff series.

I thought the knock on Richards was that he didn’t workout enough and that he partied too much? Hard to put a guy who didn’t prep his body well at the top of a list of hard workers. I don’t think it showed, on ice, early in his career, but his game/body might have held up better if he stayed in better shape.

I’m a little surprised Giroux hasn’t been on anyone’s list in terms of hard workers. If Giroux wasn’t on any of these teams the passed decade, the Flyers probably become irrelevant many seasons sooner. Two Hart nominations without the 102 point season. One of the very best at the faceoff dot. All situations, all three forward spots, type of player.

I get it but judging on what I saw on the ice that kid worked his ass off. Training might have been another story and I believe Lappy called him out on it at one point so I do value his opinion however I’ll never trust the media in full (except Bill of course). CNN is fake news. Lock her up. Build that wall. Trump 2024

Giroux certainly worked hard, but the Flyers have a pretty deep pool in their history

Yeah, Fat Balloon HAS to be on any lazy list when it comes to the Flyers and I'd also like to give a nod to current Flyer JVR. Thanks!

Giroux might be the third best player to play for the Flyers in their history. Think about it. It’s always going to Bobby Clarke and than everyone else. Regardless of how Lindros’ career ended or the relationship split between him and the organization, Eric Lindros is number two. After that you can take your pick but knowing what we know today about Giroux, how can Claude Giroux not be number 3 as one of the all time great Flyers? Multiple Hart nominations and 90/100 plus point seasons aside, Giroux had seen and done it all as a Flyer from being on bottom feeder teams to a Stanley Cup Final appearance. Giroux would have to be on my list for all time hard working Flyers because of noted nagging injuries with his hip and still played at the highest possible level, only to return the following season and be our top point producer most seasons. Now I get it, G moving on is still fresh but in ten years from now, you’ll be talking about him the same way you’re talking about Brind’Amour, Clarke or Poulin.

My all time hard working squad

First team
G- Ron Hextall
D- Barry Ashbee
D- Brad Marsh
LW- Bill Barber
C- Bobby Clarke
R- Gary Dornhoefer

Second Team
G- Ray Emery
D- Kimmo Timonen
D- Ed Van Impe
LW- Shjon Podein
C- Dave Poulin
RW- Sami Kapanen

- BiggE

Also I think it’s important to take notice in BiggE’s Second Team list and who is in net. Sure it’s easy to put Razer up there out of respect because he was taken from this world too soon but I don’t think this is the case. When the Flyers signed Ray Emery, I don’t think any Flyers’ fan wanted him here. I wanted him for my own childish broad street bully reasons but most fans on this board hated the signing. Ray Emery was trouble. We saw it in Ottawa, we saw it in Russia. Emery comes in, plays with passion and fire, has a mid season hip injury that should have ended his career. He was written off by everyone. His career was over. Emery not only works hard to come back at the highest possible level, even taking back up jobs. He came back to the Flyers. My all time favorite Flyers goalie hands down.

Poulin was the 80’s version of Brind’amour.
Brind’amour was the 90’s version of Poulin.

70’s Clarke
80’s Poulin
90’s Brind’amour
00’s Richards
10’s Couturier

What a list of workers.

Like left field for the red sox. Williams, Yastrzemski, Rice and Greenwell.

Giroux is one of the franchise all time best players but he is not #3 all time. The Flyers have 5 hall of fame players. Clarke, Barber, Parent, Howe and Lindros. I believe that Giroux would have to win a Cup to get in.

Clarke, Barber and Parent not only come from a different era but they all had each other, along with great support around them. The book of Giroux has yet to be written. Giroux while more games played has not only more career points then Barbar, has more career points as a Flyer alone. Once Giroux reached stardom, he was the single Flyer the organization looked to in terms of preference. I wasn’t alive for the Broad Street Bullies era but who was Giroux’s wing man? The answer is, whoever was put with him and the reality is, whoever played with Giroux, G made better.

Giroux would be 5th on my list.
1. Clarke
2. Lindros
3. Parent (you win zero Cups without Bernie)
4. Mark Howe (he was absolutely robbed of 2 Norris trophies)
5. Giroux

Seems fair.

Top 3 centers in the organization, which you could argue is the most talented position on the ice. Giroux was definitely robbed of a third Hart nomination the season of his 102 points and seeing how Taylor Hall won the Hart that year, I felt Giroux was better than Hall. Hopefully I’m remembering this correctly.

Yup, I thought Giroux deserved the Hart that year, but Hall wasn’t an unreasonable choice.

Bill Barber would be a close #6 on my list of top 10 all time Flyers, followed by:

7. Tim Kerr
8. John Leclair
9. Eric Desjardins
10. Rick Macleish (best clutch playoff scorer in team history, just check out his numbers in the 74 and 75 playoffs)

I think it’s unreasonable Giroux didn’t even receive a third nomination for his best season which cleared the way for superstar Taylor Hall.
