Suzuki had 41pts, just signed for over 8m
Thomas just had a 77pt season and signed for 8.1m
In 2yrs with the way contracts are going this will be a good deal. Funny even when that contract kicks in the Sabres will still be almost 20m under the Cap floor.

KOs contract falls off, team resigns him for cheap (1.5/2M) or let’s one of the kids play. It basically is a wash in terms of money going out, just allocated from KO to TT now

Then he refuses to sign, holds out a year, pops 35 this year and wants 9x7. We cannot afford. Then he’s a Ranger

I mean I like bingo and all, but don't spend all morning bagging on tage when you have problems with your cap for a guy that scored 12 goals for a career high and cost you 39 mil long term and a 1st and a 3rd rd pick

Okay.
- BeadyEyedDouche

A team that is 19 Million dollars under the cap currently and with Thompsons 7.1 is 20 mil under the floor next year cannot afford that contract.

News to me.

By this logic Sabres fans cannot bang on any team for anything currently.

Remember when we gave Jack Eichel 10mil a year after a 56 and 57 point season…? The outrage!!

It’s absurd. If he is worth 9 mil after this year then you pay and if he walks, he walks.

Also, another team’s fan commenting on this is UNACCEPTABLE TROLLING.

So how about Dahlin for the same contract as tallness. Who says no?

I mean, this is not how you keep good talent right? Can't have a mindset of if he walks he walks. At least the argument is that he's maybe a mil high and a year long, instead of 3/4 high and 3 long like Skinners was.

Another component is while he had 1 great year, the year prior he was already showing signs of becoming a great player before he got hurt.

there was a similar discussion when he signed 1.4x3. I'm giving this iteration of management, and Tage this time, the benefit of the doubt.

Tage's deal is almost the same % of the cap limit as Marchand's deal was when he signed it in the fall of 2016.

The hope is Tage shows the same or additional growth in terms of production so the deal looks like a value as the cap continues to rise.

Well, right - just something to talk about now. I'd make that signing if I were the team.

Sabres had to show that they are turning a corner with Contracts. They played kick the can for to long, this contract also shows the young core that the Sabres will commit to players

It's odd that they aren't showing the actual entire jersey. There has to be a prototype by now.

Or maybe Tage Thompson will wear one in his contract press conference.
