Love riverworks but I can’t tell you how many people are just walking around canalside during the summer with nothing to do.

I get basspro years ago wasn’t the answer but man who ever puts something remotely interesting downtown that isn’t a restaurant and some form of entertainment will make bank

People down there literally wandering doing nothing waiting to spend money. (Myself included )

That top golf clone would of been nice. Looks like it’s never happening

perfect world, 6 mil per, but it's not my money

my guess is if he went off again next year, it would be 9 per so the good thing is they identified a core piece moving forward and locked him up

1 down a lot more to go

By going off, he would need to produce 85 - 90 points to get $9.m+
That's 17 - 22 more points, certainly doable for sure.
So is producing 50-ish (18 less)

I'd put the over/under at 75 in 82

I think you're using an average nhl salary ,but forgetting about buffatax.

Tampa could certainly have signed tage for less than buffalo given equal opportunity.

There is a huge difference between players taking discounts (as they do in Tampa and Colorado) and being "taxed" in places where they don't. There isn't a tax here, we just haven't set things up to where people want to take less to stay. The vast majority of teams never achieve this.

Kid could be a solid addition if he adds a bit of weight.

What a team of prospects they have assembled! #20 top prospect for the Sabres is a first round pick this year. Wow! Love it! With all on different expected years to join the Sabres, we could add 1-2 of these prospects every year for like 5 years. Let’s go!

There is definitely a buffatax with the Sabres.

When we set things up where people want to take less to stay, there will no longer be a buffatax.

Why is buffalo on everyone's no trade list?

Exactly ☝️

The only "tax" is people not wanting to play for bad teams. I think that's kind of implied no matter what the city or sport is.

Hell yeah, wasn’t too long ago when the only players interested in playing in sunny and warm South Florida were old stars bringing the wife and kids to enjoy living in FL as they wound down their career.

Yes, so I called it buffatax and it does exist.
Same for clevetax and Edmontax.

Certain teams need to pay more money for players.

You know this. This extra payment is not implied.

My hope is that Don Granato isn't made to fall on his sword due to the goaltending situation this season. That's the biggest question mark on the roster by far

Unfortunate but true, just not him though it could affect the development and growth of the team also.

Hopefully Comrie can atleast get to 32gms and be close to his numbers last year, and then 25 and 25 from Anderson and UPL

What are the odds on Houser having an NHL contract by the trade deadline?

I can’t envision a scenario where Granato gets canned this year.

The Sabres are being patient and are self aware of where they are as a franchise.

I doubt Granato will be judged on wins and losses alone for that reason, in fact, if they lose they may see it as a positive with the strength of the 2023 draft class.

Now if all of the current/future core players look like crap then that might be a cause of concern

75% and it could be sooner than that.
