Just 24 hours ago people were saying how nice it is that Tage wanted to be here.

So which is it that a guy wants to be here or he was going to walk in 24 months if he has another good season if they didn’t get a contract done.

- ImThatGuy

It can 100% be he wants to be here if treated correctly. Pops 38, walks in for contract extension talks, and the say best we can do right now is 1 year at 4M, you need to prove yourself again, I can see where that would sour anybody.

Crazy. Just says. We think you aren’t great but here is 2 years to try
- Sabretooth9

Typical bridge. Ullmark got 2 years @ 750k in a very similar situation.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I never said anything about Tage wanting to be here. I said Kevyn Adams can score it as a PWTBH win for himself.

I think the team (rightly) assessed that Tage could Reinhart his way out of town if they didn't do this now. A 6'7" center scoring 38 goals is a thing that's literally never happened in the NHL.

You can't teach tall, and you can't teach top-cheese shooting. You can teach a tall guy how to use his reach in the defensive zone.

That's the upside in this contract, even if the goalscoring regresses

Lots and lots of risk. Maybe this is just a risk they have to take but man… 7x 7M. Based on one very good season. I do get rewarding players who want to be there. Hope it works out.

Ullmark did nothing to say he deserved that money. I wouldn’t have given him that deal

As for Sam. Yeah the bridge deal was a weird one

The shooting is a really good point. I just don't see him regressing. He was top 4 in the league in goals above expected which speaks to how lethal his shot is.

telling people not to pair elite qb's and wr's

telling people to bank on 12th rd running backs over the starter who was picked in early rd 2, jets rbs

etc

what you do not want on fantasy teams is to have a decent qb and rb in your starting lineup from same team with the exception of maybe chargers

zeke and dak
mixon and burrows
etc

Yeah, that is pretty odd. I usually don’t have any stacks on my roster

Drafts this year are weird. Like the elite RBs besides Taylor. All have some sort of injury issues in the past

I would be scared to draft Mccaffery again. That was awful.

QB WR stacks Not many elite QBs have elite WRs anymore.

Like Allen and diggs

Herbert - no elite WR
Mahomes - no elite WR
Burrow - chase. - yes
Cousins - Jefferson - no cousins isn’t elite
Brady - evans No. I don’t love evans

Who are you stacking?

His shot isn’t going away. That is my only positive from tage.

The other stuff. Can he actually keep it going

You don't sign your starting goalie to a 1 year deal taking him straight to UFA. It was incompetent. It wouldn't have taken anywhere near the deal he got at that time. Self-inflicted wound.

If Tage is the guy who had 48 points in his final 50 games then the team has their 1C.

It's probably more likely his shooting regresses and they have a reasonably paid 55-60 pt. 2C moving forward

If the latter is the reality then either they need Savoie to take the reins at 1C or they go 3-4 deep with Thompson, Cozens, Krebs, Savoie, et al down the middle and try to beat the opposition with depth. That approach would lend itself to extending one of those other guys at a low AAV sooner-rather-than later

If savoie is who we think can be and tage is that 55-60 guy a line up of savoie tage cozens down the middle is pretty good. No real ⭐️ but three really good guys and you can run three lines making matchups hard for other teams.

Yeah and then you plug Kulich/Asplund/Bjustead or whoever in at 4C.

But they need to lock those other 2/b and 2/c centers in at a reasonable rate to make that work. Making a decision on one of Krebs/Cozens/Mittelstadt this year is huge

I like getting stacks you don't have to pay as much for.

Allen with Davis or Knox
Carr with Adams or Waller

I never really try to get QB and RB stacks and don't really like the idea of it. Would have to be a team with a pass catching back like Chargers or Green Bay for me to like it. Absolutely hate having RB and WR from same team. Had Henry/AJ Brown and CD/Zeke last year in my Dynasty League. Traded Zeke and AJ Brown for Dalvin to get out of them. This was before AJ Brown was traded.
