We all know how this is going to turn out. The Flyers are a bottom 5 team on paper, but Torts will will (is that okay grammar?) them to higher places. So they will finish about 18th to 22nd in the league and miss out on the high end prospects. If Torts somehow gets this team into the top 8 in the east he should win coach of the year without a vote needed! Why is Lappy still here? FIRE CHUCK and FIRE LAPPY! Thanks!

I don’t think they have any chance to finish middle of the pack. Zero, nada, zilch.
I am thinking more of a 9-12 th bad range.
I just don’t see the defense being good enough.
I can also see the offense struggle at times.
I can honestly admit I’d rather they go all out svck and get a potential star player.
I dropped streaming service to be able to watch games and not so sure I’ll even pick it back up.
After a decade of slop it’s really hard to hold interest enough to go out of my way to watch games.

I hear K Hayes got his pool guy and landscaping guy tryouts in camp.

This is both funny and believable. Let that sink in.

So somehow we couldn’t trade JvR at the cost and one year left on his deal to add in something worth watching. Calgary was able to trade Sean Monahan who I’m pretty sure is dead, to sign Kadri.

Those girls in Montreal will refer his blood flowing again. Love that town. It’s a good time.

There’s no wonder why so many players have been distracted by it.

There is a level of motivation that comes from that.

I’m curious how motivated they will feel in a few months time of his iron fist. The Flyers fail to ignore the reality that the rest of the league does not operate like Torts. If I was a young player I would want nothing to do with this guy, and his mental experiments.

I look forward to the fallacy that he is some kind of miracle worker to be exposed.

I will maintain young player development is a problem that will very much continue with him at the helm. It’s a new era, and everything I continue to hear from this man tells me he doesn’t have a clue what year it is. Players are not the same, and not accepting that as a reality is stupidity.

It's rare that I'm not with you in the opinions you offer but not sure that I'm all the way on board here. I don't think the fans or the organization see him as a miracle worker.

I think he needs to be given a chance to see if he can improve this team. There are many players that credit Tortorella over the year for helping them become better players.

I’ve also been to Montreal. I gotta tell you, living in Michigan the passed ten years compared to three nights in Montreal. Michiganders love their sweat pants, stained shirts and crack. Every girl in Montreal looks like they just stepped out of vogue magazine. It’s actually breathtaking watching women walk by who take pride in what they look like before stepping outside.

Appreciate the different take.

Find myself questioning more, and more if his style is indeed what this team needed. I do not think he is a good development coach for young players, more specifically on a team that needs to milk as much dynamic offensive skill out of its youngsters as possible.

After Hakstol, and Vigneault/Therrien this is not a group to me that needed a hardass to the level that he is. Especially not for a team that depends so strongly on its young players taking the next steps in offensive production. Tried to have an open mind with him, but the constant rah-rah before the season has even begun to basically tell these guys to be ready for hell, or be off the team is souring me quickly.

We shall see.

I think a lot remains to be seen here. I don't think you have the right read on Tortorella. Tortorella is not easy on players. Should he be? Should any coach be? He's telling his players right off the bat what they can expect. What they need to be prepared for. What is the issue with that? The thing with Tortorella is that he is straight up. He let's players know where they stand. He didn't say anyone will be off the team. He said that if you do what is expected of you you'll play. If not, you won't. Not sure what the issue is with that.

Calgary had to give Montreal a first round pick along with Monahan to get them to take him.

This just in, police have two names of two players who were apart of a sexual assault who played for the 2003 Canadian world junior team. Lupul and Upshall were actually on that team and if I’m them, I’m pretending I’ve never Associated with anything that sounds like “legion of poon”

They weren't giving up a first round pick to get rid of JVR and that is the going rate. Not really much else to say. With the depth and talent level of next year's draft they simply didn't want to give up that pick.

You should try Quebec City! Been there a few times back in the day and it was joyous!! They say the French don't like Americans? We didn't get that vibe at all! Thanks!

He has no idea the value of a first round pick, and ours verse Calgarys will be much more valuable. Especially in this draft.

That’s a stereotypical comment…lol….saying that the Quebecor’s don’t like Yanks is like saying western Canada can’t stand fellow Canadians anywhere east of Winnipeg….then again.

You’re life seems so exciting with every post. Who here are you trying to impress? I believe you mentioned something about “the masses” agreeing with you? Do you also hear the people of hockeybuzz chanting your name?

I’m interested in knowing how big you are because you have such a little person’s mentality. Like who provokes fights on the internet? Do me a favor, show these conversations to a girl and ask her if these petty posts make you look cool. I’m seriously curious.

True about QC as well. Nice little city.

I find that as long as you’re polite, they have no problem with Americans. At least not to your face.

I do have family in Quebec City but I’ve never had the opportunity to visit them. They’re more likely to come to Toronto, Guelph or Windsor for family functions. I’m not American though.

The first round pick Calgary used in the Monahan trade, is not this years draft lol....and it's conditional. Mtl can take next year's pick if it is in the 20-32 range, or they can get the highest of Calgarys two first rnd picks (one from Fla in 25)......

The point he's making is the secret was out, Calgary already was well into the process of signing/had signed Kadri and HAD to make a move. They were in no position of strength to make a deal, and yet they still somehow gave up no 2023 picks.

Vegas was in a dire position too, and had to make a move. Somehow, they dealt Patches for future considerations lol.

If the Flyers ultimately wanted to make a deal to clear space, this past summer, or into this season, it shows it can be done by a competent management staff. Their hands weren't tied to only dealing 2023 first rnd picks.

This is a perfect example of the ineptitude feltcher. He needs to go.

Is there a Flyers fan in here who doesn't think feltcher should be fired? I'd love to hear why and how you are able to still support him
I'd seriously love to hear this

From Sens blog said Arizona wants 3 pieces now equivalent to 3 -1st rd picks.

Chychrun. Both the LA Kings and Philadelphia Flyers have made numerous inquiries over the last year with Arizona, but cap issues will make it difficult for either team, as they would have to move a contract or two to make it work under the cap.
