It's an end of season retention that can squeeze him onto a top team or a Benning type of team.
Obviously you'd rather deal with Benning, but top teams still have some top young talent. - golfingsince
So TDL deal is the solution? If they are set to trade why not do same retention move at the beginning of season?
Just saying it’s likely they would keep and sign him if this team does well and is in playoff race at TDL. |

Gf and I at the game with my parents, my mom couldn't handle OT so she ran to the bathroom. She met Bedards mom and sister in there, also hiding out of nervousness, they got to celebrate the goal together - NorthNuck
Lol that’s sweet 👏 |

We were also right in line with the Canada goal line in OT, when McTavish knocked that puck out of the air my heart almost stopped |

It's not that they are set to trade, it's that it's still very much available.
You retain at the deadline because teams need hardly and cap space to acquire him. |

Yeah got it. So trade now if possible. Retain at deadline if needed.
Some think options are getting limited for Canucks. I would say it may turn into a bidding war |

Hey, Russell Wilson got traded. A good GM should be listening on all players. - VanHockeyGuy
Oh for sure. Time and place however.
I wonder what NFU thinks?

Agreed. It's not like they're dismantling a cup contender. Anything and everything that improves the team should be on the table. The real problem is undoing some of the moves that have painted this regime into a corner.
Also, Happy Sunday...Ass hole. |

Carol has said it’s harder to sign JTM now. So if that’s true only one option left.
Others have pointed out that without creating cap space Bo and JTM can’t both be signed.
As much as I like JTM and seeing how well the team can perform, this season, there has to be a big picture move to put this team into real contention. - Quinn's Quest
Flat cap and ELC's make it challenging.

Will probably be the favourite at Post Time. Moira is the 8 horse looks very good I think is the Winner. but the 4-6-5 Horses are also right there. It's a great field of 3 year olds gonna be a killer race. Should be televised. |
