The books suck. CD Projek Rape did a much better job in the games telling an actual story.

Might be the reason why the author hates the games so much, they managed to tell a better story than he did with his own world.

To be honest, the first 2 books are only short stories...Real story starts at the end of the second book. I just started "Blood of Elves", I'm more into it now since the saga with Ciri started.

Before that it was very meh.

I'm pretty spoiled because I've read a ton of fantasy and played 2 and 3 of the Witcher (can't get me to spend time trying to get through the Glitcher 1) before trying to read the books. It's just not that good. I'd recommend about 13 series off the top of my head before it.

Read that as a teenager...in my memory that's one of the best (if not the best) fantasy series I've read.

I can't seem to get into Witcher 3. The control scheme bothers the hell out of me. Kinda like Far Cry I guess where everything just feels wrong.
