It's good if you are hockey literate. I wouldn't knock Columbus, apparently they are a free agent destination. Gave up nothing for the league's 2nd leading scorer. Paid him less as well. - Load Management
CLB is going nowhere. Another team the league did not need. |

I felt the same way about the Oilers when they joined from the WHA. Still do. |

It was just nice to see a good game with a little excitement level. CFL has been so bad for so long with very little marquis talent and it was an enjoyable game. - LordHumungous
Ya, not knocking the excitement of a game, just saying they're not really going to have sustained success as all the talent flocks to the NFL. I used to watch the CFL growing up all the time with my dad, but it's not even close in product to the NFL |

That’s the perception, the cfl game moves much faster, the NFL is more about the money, commercial every 10 minutes etc, it’s presented better because of corporate business, the cfl game is much better if all the skill moved up here along with the money. |

The problem with keeping Miller is that even if you manage to resign him, Bo is gone because you are not going to have the cap to sign both. And the year after next you have to resign both EP40 and Podz and even though by then Myers contract is up is not going to be enough to be able to keep them as well. Miller rightly wants a 7-8 year deal and he's only going to be viable as a 1st line player for 2 maybe 3 more years depending on injuries. This is why several of us want him traded, not that he's a horrible player, but because keeping him means that other forwards who are much younger and could end up much better than Miller will have to be moved to make room for him to be on this roster. - DariusKnight
Why not move Boeser and Pearson and keep Miller and Bo. If we want to stay in mediocrity we let Miller leave and keep those two. |

I'm sure the SEL would be better if all the NHL players and the corporate money moved over there. What a stupid comment |

He described Van fans as unreasonable and quick to turn on players no matter which way you spin it... Burning their jerseys after not scoring on the first shift.... not exactly a compliment.
What is the funniest about it is although he's exaggerating about it... it's also true that fans here are easy to turn or lash out... - boonerbuck
JT was being honest when it’s at it’s darkest times. Nothing wrong with that. Beats regular vanilla speak. He understands the fans passion & he also has passion to be a part of being the solution. He loves the guys & where it could all lead to. |

All possible bit that’s part of the negotiations & his disclosure what the new mgmt faces. You gotta bet cap structure is part of the talks. Has to be given his stature & importance. Cones down to the give & take process. If he takes a fair team offer it’s cuz all of what you mention can also be done. Those other players will also be in the fold on negotiations if they buy in to what Miller may do. |

10x the population & the big hype machine. College football drives the NFL. We don’t have that either. My 1 critique is our large field just isn’t sexy when it comes to camera angles & that feel you are right close to the action. Other side of the coin is way more action & far less time killed. |

It's a math thing. - Marwood
Bo needs to 2 mill more from current salary
Miller needs 3.5 more from current salary
Pearson replacement needs 2 mill salary
Boeser replacement is Pod who makes 1 million.
Pods replacement is a another 1 million dollar player
We need 8.5 million to do this.
Boeser salary is 6.65M and Pearson is 3.25M = 9.9M
Seems like the math works out for this scenario. |

Yes & no sorta.
I can see Bo coming in cheaper than 7.5m. Comes down to how much of a shave JT will take knowing how mgmt will structure the cap on other upcoming signings. Expect bridges for RFA’s other than Petey. Bridges are not ideal all the time being they get paid big later. It’s all a part of the stagnant cap & past contracts from JB. So it’s a juggle til some contracts expire eg Myers & Pearson. That 1 extra year is the big hurdle. |

Bottom line its doable it's all in how management moves the money around. |

So, the defense will continue to be trash and a long term Demko injury would end any hope of being a wildcard bubble team. Good times! |

Hardly trash but middle of the pack for sure.
We were 9th best in goals against last year.
Sure its Demko but we work with what we have and trading Boeser could net us a young defencemen to help out.
Our problem is we need offence and getting rid of Miller and his points will keep us a bubble team. Boeser's and Pearson's offence output are easily replaced.

Yes doable but predicated on so many factors & JT is the 1st domino. |
