My guess for goals by D:

Provy - 7
Sanheim - 6 will be higher if he finally gets some significant pp time
DeAngelo - 7
Ellis (inj. ) - 0 I’ll be shocked if he ever plays again
Risto - 4
York - 6
Braun - 2
Seeler - 0
Attard - 2 he’ll be up as soon as they inevitably start moving players or injuries hit
Zamula - 0 I doubt he gets into more than 5-7 games

- BiggE

Why in the world would Sanheim get significant Pp time? He hasn’t looked good in any situation on the PP ever. Deangelo and York should be the only two considered.

ICYMI, Sanheim had 7 goals last season without significant PP and with a poor performance team.

While I agree with the general sentiment re the young players, Provorov and TK are veteran players going into their 7th NHL season. I think what you see is what you are gonna get when it comes to those 2.
- BiggE

How old was Giroux when he reached the milestones of 93 points, 86 points, 102 points and 85 points in his career? I’m not saying Konency or Provorov are Giroux in anyway. I think it’s short sited that Travis Konency’s 3 seasons in a row of 24 goals is where he tops out at in his young career, although though those are three wild Coincidences.

Sanheim has not gotten much PP time over the years. DeAngelo is obviously the best choice for the PP but if they're looking to the future. Wouldn't Sanheim's value as a player be improved if he can play on the PP? DeAngelo is here for two years. How long will Sanheim be here? Trying to win now or look to the future?

11 goals. It doesn’t matter what line or role. They do squat. They blow

How many 3 on 3 OT winners did Sanheim have last season?

Last summer it looked on paper like Yands and Ellis would be carrying the PP.

Just sayin'

(I look forward to another season of Provy leading the team in PP TOI)

Watching these Stanley Cup games from the 90's on NHL network.

It is almost startling the amount of hooking and interference that went on during that era. Guys are basically waterskiing.

I think DeAngelo, York and Provorov should be the 3 D-men considered. No matter how some of you feel about Provorov on the power play, he’s still our number 1 all situations defender and getting paid to be one. He might not be as crafty as Kimmo Timonen (another error development), Provorov does produce on the PP.

Provorov is not good on the PP. He would probably a better player overall if they removed him off the PP

Provy - 11 under
Sanheim - 7 over
DeAngelo - 10 over
Ellis (inj. ) - 8 under (wont play)
Risto - 4 over
York - 5 over
Braun - 3 under
Seeler - 0 over

1. On each of these Flyer’s defensemen, would you bet the “over” or “under” on goals scored in the upcoming ’22-‘23 season?
2. Based on what you expect each of them to score, would your total for the d-core be more or less?

More, because of DeAngelo and York

I'm not making a big deal out of one game. This is a cumulative thing with the fact being that the Flyers haven't had a highly touted prospect at the World juniors in what seems like forever. They just have non descript role players on these teams that do very little at the NHL level. Point being that the Flyers have very few prospects to get excited about and that's a very bad thing when the NHL roster is as putrid as their roster currently is.

Do you understand how elite you have to be to make these WJC rosters? Obviously not.

He should have gotten a look in the past couple because the personnel was terrible but we have a short term gap in TDA and York would be your build for the future. I could see York being the feature on PP1 by year end.

Both did look good early haha. Ellis really could have been a great add if he wasn’t entirely broken. I think that Provy might not get the first look, I could be wrong tho.

He’s had a good season there but Provy is a PP killer. Fumbles puck and kills the flow, his decision making is way too slow. How many times will he cradle the puck before making a pass. It’s all about quick decisions and deception, he has neither.

Here are my own:

1.
Provy - 11 (on)
Sanheim - 7 (over) +1
DeAngelo - 10 (under) -1
Ellis (inj. ) - 8/0 (no comment)
Risto - 4 (on)
York - 5 (over) +1
Braun - 3 (under) -1
Seeler - 0 (on)

2. No change

Still need a defenseman for PP2. Sanheim should be given an opportunity. It could increase his value as a player.

He has a good wrist shot and could be OK as the 2nd dman on the 2nd unit, but not as the PP QB. He thinks too slowly to be a fit for that role

I’m not ruling out that TDA and York are on separate units. Probably going to be somewhat frequent changes throughout the season.

Uncreative, has trouble keeping the puck in, 90% of the time stays within a 10 feet radius, has no instinct of when the forward can drift and set a screen, etc. from the eye test.

Just looked up his p/60 (min 15mins TOI/game). Provy ranks 101st.

EDIT: should be 15 mins total power play TOI over season. Here is the same list with a more meaningful 60 mins pp time/season to weed out outliers. Provy is 77th.
