Then you look at the stats for the game, 3 points with the game winner lol but let’s focus on the negative lol
- Bettmanhatesus

That is it in a nutshell.

Generally our fanbase are mopey & looking at the negatives. Blind to what is happening & not open minded that there is real hope in the future. This team has underachieved & the players know it. Up to them to prove otherwise.

lol they were going to lose eventually. Might be hitting the Lions/Stamps game tomorrow in CGY to check out Rourke. Great Story. But was just asked to go the Riders/Esks game in EDM as well with free tix. Decisions...

Lions and stamps will be a better game by far.

So am I, I also think most here are also excited with the exception of a few.

I'm with nighthawk that the players and team feel they have something to prove.

Those of us who aren't, is because we'd have prefered to see some forward thinking and not just "this coming season's" playoff push. We'd like to see some efforts being done to make the team into a contender that can push for a Cup run someday and not try to just make the playoffs and luck into maybe going far. But hey, what do we know, we've got 50+ years of mediocre success to look back on and be all gushy and optimistic.

Pretty much true but I find it a waste of energy to bother thinking like that. Imo it’s a sign of affluence gone awry & cannot appreciate enough in life. Spoiled entitlement doesn’t cut it with me. The ol glass half empty or half full outlook. Half full I say lol

We’ve gone from ‘70’s Canucks when the Mausoleum fans wanted elite talent to now where the fan base wants to pick apart that same elite talent. No wonder our fans are known as fickle & not well liked.

Can fans just not get behind the team like they did in ‘82? Lunch bucket team that won the hearts of fans while some called it luck. Insufferable

Can fans not want to see a team that plays like Colorado or Tampa Bay or the '11 Canucks where they were the actual class of the league, not a middling mediocre franchise that's mired in cap hell and thinking about resigning a forward that might only have 2 good years left at the top of their game to a minimum 6 year deal and for more money than their so-called best player in EP40 gets and who will have to be resigned the next year? I mean, I'm sorry, I liked the '82 Canucks, but I didn't lionize them. They got a favorable draw with Edmonton getting knocked out in the first round and Roger Neilsen able to push the right buttons when they played Chicago. The fact is, the Islanders crushed them in 4 games in the Final and it wasn't even close. '94 at least to me was a team that underachieved, but by the playoffs ended up playing to their potential. The '11 Canucks were just pure dominant in all facets of the game and only Luongo being 7uongo in Boston, Hamhuis, Kesler, Ehrhoff being injured and either out or ineffective and Rome being suspended kept them from winning a Cup.

Yes fans can envy those teams but it requires patience while new mngt unravels what needs tweaking.

JT might only have 2yrs I disagree. I’ll give him 3-4yrs. Playmakers age well & Miller takes care of himself. His skill set will age fine. Years 5 & beyond will become questionable.

Oilers problem they caved. None of the Canucks doing. They won every series 4-1 or a sweep & no the Isles didn’t crush them til games 3 & 4 after the Canucks played them pretty even on the Island. Easily coulda been a split. There is a reason they were a dynasty.

Man, it’s so divisive in here. “You’re cheering too loudly” - “well you’re too negative so I have to cheer loudlier”. Everyone take a pill

And rock out to this 80’s masterpiece!

2 seconds left in OT & he never gets the gears like others would’ve. Didn’t need to do anything but kill the clock.

5 games on the road to start the season. Could be a terrific start if come out flying.

Probably a good way to gel fast & not have the home ice pressure off the bat.
