I, for one, think Caufield should be resigned by the Habs.

I kid a lot, but at least from what I saw in the highlights he's more stable on his skates than Kotkaniemi (is a better skater too) and seems to have more hustle than Armia.

I still would have prefered Wright or Cooley though. Time will tell.

My pick was Wright. I still think all 3 teams who passed on him will regret it.

This being said, i'll be cheering for our boy Slaf to become the next Rantanen!

I'm not so sure about Wirght since the look gate, seems a little entitled to me.

Saw a video today where he said "Arizona then? I like it"

And it follows by Cooley getting picked and he says "that hurt".

He's still gonna be amazing.

Absolutely. I prefer to eat crow and see him succeed than saying "I was right"

Not sure he'll be amazing but I think at worst he's a 60pts reliable 2nd center. Just seemed like the less risky of the picks with a decent potential

yeah...probably related to the stuff that rubbed teams the wrong way. Apparently he wasn't great in interviews

Well amazing might be pushing it a bit far.

But I fully expect Jonathan Toews like numbers.

Aka, ppg player on a good season, 60i points on a mediocre one.

Apparently Getlzaf was the worst ever in interviews and that's why he slipped down to 19

When hockey guys base their opinions of an 18 year because he didn't interview like a 15 year, 35 y/o vet..

This explains a lot of wtf picks.

I think he's going to have a longer road to the NHL, but he's going to be good in the end.

EDIT: I know he's been drafted by Arizona and that might fast track his NHL career debut, but I'm talking about being an impact player

1. He was Craig Button's #1
2. Drafted by Arizona
3. Played on one of the best USDP Teams of all time and was still far below their elite guys through history

My hot take which will undoubtedly be wrong.

I think being drafted by Arizona has not helped his chances.
