I can guarantee that the TB GM and coaches have no expectation of Myers being perfect. Think about what you're saying. What sense does it make for a team to expect that from a player who has struggled for the last two seasons?
- MJL

He’s on the brink of being a career AHLer, there’s not much more pressure a certain organization can put on him.

Except for the pressure he will be putting on himself. Tampa sees a 6/7 guy, Myers sees his career.

That’s what I just said haha. Organization can’t put on any more pressure than that.

Wait? One person agreed with you, who turned out to be wrong but the masses agreed with you?

Original statement by me “ This is the first real team Tampa has faced in three finals”. You disagreed by offering up Dallas in the 2000 final as your argument. Tampa pummels Dallas. The Aves pummel Tampa this year. In what universe where you right?

- SuperSchennBros

Avs pummel Tampa.....huh

3 of their wins were by 1 goal, 2 were in OT

in each of those games, the avs got a bounce their way and they capitalized. Kudos to them. Series could have gone either way. This was the weakest team of Tampas Dynasty and they were missing Point to boot

No team in a final should lose the way Tampa did in Game 2. Especially not on the level Tampa is in terms of how they’re built.

It’s not worth even talking to the guy. If you don’t think that 2020 Dallas team was a good hockey club then you shouldn’t watch the sport.

We disagree. He will get another shot if this doesn't work out imo. Size him being RH.

Do they still have a 2nd buyout window

- furio16

My understanding is that there is no 2nd buyout window for the Bolts. I believe you have to have at least one player who filed for arbitration to qualify. Don’t think they had anyone.

I would agree with this. I normally have civil conversations with people on here.

All kidding aside, there you go with this belief that everyone is on your side. You hate me, so everyone’s must hate me too.

You have to have a player actually go to arbitration, not just file as far as I know. Most players who file settle beforehand.

Nah nah man. Bolts tried to stifle Avs the way they had done with other offensively talented teams in the past: Flirida, Rangers, and in previous years: Isles, for example. And they couldn't. There were large parts of games where the action was so one-sided it was embarrassing. The Avs forwards gave Tampa D fits and reduced them to giant cluster(frank)ers for minutes on end. They were clearly overwhelmed and outtalented.

For example, the OT goal that Kadri scored from a 2-many-men situation - that was a mercy killing almost. Far from an OT in a SCF, it looked like a prolonged pp before that.

Oh ok. Good to know. Arbitration hearings end Aug. 11 and almost all if not all have settled.

He does.

The problem is Torts' style of play boils down to "Collapse hard in front of your own net"

- BINGO!

Now tell us why you gave KK that monster contract? Yes he had decent #s for his role. But that is one year. Projecting for 8 years he will fill in ramp up scoring pace when moving higher up seems quite a leap of faith.

I would put that at the top of 3 head-scratching (to me at least) contracts. Sergachev I would put in #2 on that list. Yeah he is talented, rugged, has potential. But his #s are not that great and to my eye, he had a poor playoffs. He played in their 3rd pairing all these years, behind McDonagh and Hedman. Ok, things may work out but 8 years in the realm of Fox and Hamilton money?

The 3rd would be Nicuschin(sp?) ofc.

All 3 clubs are known for their careful roster building, and do not throw out money to FAs. 2 of the 3 of them are champs and one is knociking at the door. As such, it seems to me that these top teams are really relying on internal team analytics which are not yet public to us.

Krueger didn't want him on the roster anymore. They thought John Gilmour could do better. Bogo had already been cleared to play was getting healthy scratched repeatedly.

Not in the stanly cup final they don’t. Not with the best goalie in the league. Not when you’re built to win every year like Tampa is.
