He's paid like one, but he is not elite, not even close! You should try watching him play more often. - jd250
You're a fool. 4th in Norris Trophy voting and 2nd team all NHL. He is a dominant player.

The Flyers were terrible, but Hart was negative in saves above expected, which takes chance quality and shot location into account. Overall he performed worse than if you dropped an "average" NHL goaltender in the same predicament. He played slightly below average for the season, but well below average in the 2nd-half. - Tomahawk
The Stats say there may be more of problem with Hart then some are willing to concede….frankly I’m not sure where I land on this. I know the stat “confidence” is the one thing that is not measured but is probably a tad bit more important. When a guy lets in 2- 3 goals that maybe he should have that stuff snowballs. I would think It’s pretty hard with such a poor team in front of him to play with a level of confidence. I also agree that there were games where leaky goaltending was a major problem and the tending was as much a problem as poor play in their own end. I guess when you suck it’s never really just one thing.

Rask literally stole 16 goals in the 12-13 POs. His team could barely muster 2.5 goals per game, yet they almost pushed a much deeper 'Hawks team to the brink.
jd250 was just saying that Hart is buckling under his team's lack of run support. Meanwhile Tuukka Rask is in the same situation, puts up a .940 SV%, 3 SOs, including one in the Finals... and he's not elite, just a system goalie.

It's brutal. Absolutely brutal. Did you know that Charlie MacAvoy is not an elite defenseman in the league? - MJL
I’m not gonna lie. I know absolutely nothing about Charlie MacAvoy. If Boston knew that he was good enough to be a number one D after Chara’s decline and Torey Krug moving on, that’s an absolute credit to Boston’s head office.

What is the deal with Kadri, did he wait too long and most teams cap is tied up or is he waiting on a specific team? Possibly thought he was going to get more money.

Guessing he really doesn't want to play for the Islanders
yea this next season is going to be a wash probably best to root for another team for 1 year - 2Real
Pretty decent all teams analysis overall. He failed to mention that the loss of Jones is magnified by not having anyone proven behind Hart. He trashes Chuck for not making space using Pacioretty for nothing as an example. Vegas had to add Coghlan who is a serviceable Dman. Pacioretty is better than JVR. If the Flyers wanted to dump JVR without giving up a 1st, what player(s) or prospects would they have to give up? Would they still have to retain salary? Fletcher may have made things worse by getting Gaudreau for a team that needs a rebuild.

the true value for JVR will come at this coming TDL if we don't get at least a 2nd and a prospect for him then CF should be poop canned

I wasn't discussing what I think management will do. I think they've already done their best to hurt Hart and a number of other players. I foresee this current management making more bad decisions. - MJL
That's like forecasting rain in Seattle. A bold prediction, for sure.
I could see that. It’s just seems like he’s going to need a very specific fit. I highly doubt people are going to be knocking on Chucks door to discuss JVR.

JVR will get a 3rd at best. - MBFlyerfan
we want JVR to be pacing 30, scoring dirty goals in front. Then maybe a team who thinks he will get them that dirty goal in the playoffs will pony up. I think a 3rd is best case too, unless he does have a great year and their are 2 teams who need what he brings
Brassard got a 4th and his career seems to be over after all his injuries. I think JVR is a much better trade deadline asset, although his cap hit will be $3.5m at 50%.
