Crosby would have a rough time in the desert with that cast of characters. You are only as good as your surroundings. At least you would know that Phil was going to show up on game day unlike Zucker. You cannot score from the press box. And you would at least get your money's worth with Phil the Thrill.

You mean to fit Phil?

With POJ in the lineup, send Smith, DOC and Archibald(Nobody is claiming him) down. Trade either Friedman or Ruhwedel. That leaves just over $1M and they Pens can roll a 22 man roster if Phil signed for $1M.

EDIT: Or you find a way to dump McGinn, but I don't see Hex doing that.

Sign Phil and let him play with Malkin. 2 guys who never visit the defensive zone. Should be fun for opposing teams. Hear Jagr still available too. Can field the over the hill gang

Sadly I would still take Jagr over Kap on the second line. At least I know Jagr can finish with his shot.

I mean yeah, I'll take Max Pacioretty and Brent Burns over Nino Niederreiter and Tony DeAngelo any day.

Big wildcard is going to be how does Kotkaniemi do replacing Trocheck? big shoes to fill.

Yea that center spot is definitely something to watch going forward. It's too bad you guys didn't have your starting goalie this past playoff.

Didnt Phil leave because Malkin and Sullivan were tired of his crap?

Dont ruin his reputation here by having him come back. Sometimes, one stint with a team is enough.

Penguins blogger logic:
Shows graph of player with good numbers – states player is a good player. If he plays for the Penguins, that is good let him play. If he does not play for the Penguins, we need to get them on the Penguins.

Shows different player with bad numbers and different graph. Conclusion: not a good player, do not make part of the team. If he is on the team we need to get him off the team.

I see Poehling a player in the same level of O'Connor with a little more experience obviously. Nothing wrong about that. I really hope both earn their playing time on the 4th line.
- Barnaby36

Poehling is a former 1st and DOC wasn't drafted so I think he's got more natural talent. DOC's late growth spurt is really what helped get him on the prospect map. I like both guys but I'd give a decent edge to Poehling who is still younger than most of the forward prospects we discuss.

Definitely curious to see Poehling in preseason, same with Smith. And then with our guys we've had I'll be watching POJ and Puustinen.

Scores a couple goals in scrimmage and than gets sent down so older players (Archibald, Caggiula) can play lol

I thought you'd get the irony lol

Caggiula might get a call up due to injuries but that's about it. Archibald could end up being a starter on the 4th line or 13-14th forward for us.

If Cagg is in we're having some major injuries haha hopefully that's not the case.
